Lets go beneath the squiggle....
OK lets check out http://www.runhillary2012.net/
On the bottom of the website it says "a project of the 99%".
There is a "Letter to Hillary" here.
Dear Madam Secretary:
Letâs get right to the point.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, you need to run for the Presidency of the United States in 2012.
Every poll shows that you would defeat any Republican candidate for president by a wide margin. However, the same polls indicate the opposite if you are not the Democratic nominee.
Itâs true; you and President Obama have been a great team in foreign policy. Under your leadership, our combat troops have essentially left Iraq. Gaddafi and bin Laden are dead. Al-Qaeda is on the run everywhere. America is respected.
But you know these are not the real issues that will determine the election in 2012. Itâs the economy. Just as it was in 1992. And, the stakes have never been higher.
The fight for economic justice hangs in the balance.
With 25 million people looking for work; with a growing sense of outrage that the middle class have been abandoned; and with a sense that the ability to fight hard has been sacrificed in favor of weak compromises â everyone knows that the Presidency is on the line for the Democrats. And with it so is the Supreme Court, the right to choose, environmental safeguards, and the prospect of the triumph of Wall Street Greed.
Despite the best of intentions, for millions of unemployed Americans, Hope and Change has meant disappointment and the status quo.
Mrs. Clinton, America needs a leader and a fighter, someone who can see around corners â not a Lecturer in Chief.
If Hillary Clinton was President:
The Bush Tax Cuts for millionaires and billionaires would have been eliminated.
There would have been an official policy to prosecute Wall Street fraud.
The Senate filibuster rules would have been changed on Day One, so that a right wing clique could not have stalled meaningful investments in job creation.
A plan to reduce global warming would have passed with investments in upgrading the national electricity transmission grid to deliver wind and solar energy throughout America. And, millions would be employed right now on this critical effort.
Working men and women would have the protections of the Employee Free Choice Act, and simple card check would be the route to employee representation.
The 14th Amendment would have been invoked to provide unmistakable assurance that the debts of the United States will always be honored. Our nationâs credit rating would not have been degraded.
Instead of the cry of Beltway âgridlockâ there would be the clarifying call for national progress through strong leadership.
Instead of academic discussions about âpost-partisanshipâ there would be calls to action. We would not have lost the House in 2010.
Madam Secretary, you know that all of this is true; and that had you been elected president in 2008, the country would not be adrift, filled with disappointment and outrage. The Republicans with their Tea Party extremists, and their greedy Wall Street agenda would be on the run --- not dominating the debate.
As Secretary of State, you have been above the fray, and are untainted by the lost opportunities of the last three years. You stand in a unique position â above politics â a national figure dedicated to patriotic service -- not partisan intrigue. You could run for the Presidency to take up the progressive mantle of leadership again.
As was said before in different, but equally difficult times, you could state with absolute honesty that you âRun for the presidency not to oppose any man, but to propose new policies.â
Democrats everywhere would respond with great enthusiasm and would champion the cause of renewing the fight for economic justice for all Americans.
We recognize that your decision cannot be made in a vacuum, so here is what we propose. We propose to offer you the endorsements and support of a volunteer army of one million Americans who have signed the âRun Hillary 2012!â online petition.
Armed with this formidable resource you will be empowered to answer the call to lead the fight for economic justice for all Americans.
Madam Secretary, Americans are desperate for a way out of our economic mess. Caring, compassionate families burdened with the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression need a fighter with the steely determination of a Roosevelt, and the resolve of a Bobby Kennedy. You and you alone have the stature, the experience, and the courage to rise to this challenge.
Sincerely,
Run Hillary 2012
There is a video that evokes OWS and letters from lots of people (General Wesley Clark, Maxine Waters etc.) praising Hillary.
I call BULLSHIT. Somebody has $$$$ to do robocalls. I smell Karl Rove or some other sneaky rat F*(&ker.
Of course nowhere can you find out who is behind this on the website. Not surprising that they are getting desperate given the complete BS they are running against Elizabeth Warren.
8:10 AM PT: HT to JamesGG
...that the robocalls went out on the same day that the same two jackasses who wrote the WSJ op-ed a few weeks back calling on President Obama not to run for reelection, published another op-ed asking NH primary voters to write in Hillary Clinton?
I'm leaning towards "no coincidence." And by "leaning," I mean "all but certain."
8:13 AM PT: Those Jackasses would be Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell. Both Fox contributors I believe.
