This one is going to make your blood boil. A 17 year old boy, visiting his relative, in an all "white" neighborhood - coming back from a 7-11 snack run was MURDERED by a Neighborhood Watch Captain (George Zimmerman). Despite the fact that it has been revealed that Zimmerman called the police telling them he is following a "suspicious" black boy and was immediately instructed to stand down and let the police handle it; Zimmerman got out of his vehicle, confronting Trayvon Martin and "Shot him Dead"

Actually, maybe the title should be Hood-lum Watcher by a Hoodlum. That's right, George Zimmerman was arrested previously - for Violence against Police. How in the same hell did this idiot get a gun license? How is it that a man with a history of violence is made Captain of the Neighborhood Watch?.  Huffington Post's BlackVoices details the fact (as usual) - that the Police withheld evidence about George Zimmerman from Trayvon's mother (Sybrina Fulton). Police in Sanford Florida (Orlando area)- outright lied and told Trayvon's mother Sybrina that Zimmerman had a "squeaky clean" record. Tracy Martin, the teen's father, said that was the excuse the Police gave them - as to why Zimmerman was not arrested after confessing to the killing.

Huffington Post has a Slidescreen of Pictures

We need some public domain pics for this Diary. Meanwhile, please sign the Change.Ord Petition by Trayvon's mother. She is was only seeking 35,000 signatures when I joined around 25,000th. Let us show her the LUV people and push it above 100,000.

BEFORE you do anything else Please Sign this PETITION

to all of you who Signed the Petition

                                         180,000     RESET to   200,000 (midnight 3/14)

YEAH BABY --- That's the way we get it Done!

Trayvon Martin was a HERO at 9 years of age.

Sybrina Fulton points out at the Petition request, that her son Trayvon helped pull his father from a fire in the kitchen. Specifically - Trayvon was his mother's HERO - not a hoodlum teen. He did not deserve to have his life ended in such a brutal and hateful manner.

Trayvon was my hero. At the age 9, Trayvon pulled his father from a burning kitchen, saving his life. He loved sports and horseback riding. At only 17 he had a bright future ahead of him with dreams of attending college and becoming an aviation mechanic. Now that’s all gone.
       The Murder transpired in a (purported) White dominated -"Gated" community and George Zimmerman felt a young black man didn't belong. As denoted on YouTube by The Young Turks - evidently the Police definition of "squeaky clean" means White man with prior arrest who took a Criminal Justice course, despite a history of violence. While a black teenager, with no history must have been killed because of self defense. That is what the Police mean by "squeaky clean". Here's the Update by Young Turks on YouTube - ignore the fact it is Cenk;
Via The Huffington Post: "Trayvon Martin, an unarmed African-American teenager, was shot and killed in a gated community in Florida late last month by a white neighborhood watch captain, according to police. But the watch captain, George Zimmerman — a 28-year-old college student who has admitted to police that he shot the young man — still walks free. And Martin's family is pleading for answers and demanding justice...".* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur break it down on The Young Turks.

Video points out the fact that White admits he kills Black - maybe there's an arrest

My add to that is - Black maybe kills White and he is lucky to make it to jail alive.

Some may argue that the title saying Killed Hero is a stretch. Trayvon's mother says he was her hero; which is more than enough for me. However, he is also a HERO because he died - not because he woke up and said he was going to fight racism on February 26, 2012 - but because Trayvon gave his life due to racism. If you don't think so, you must be in wrong the place. I was the only white boy in an all black/ hispanic high school in New York City immediately after desegragation and never - EVER - suffered 1/100 the the bias that Black's sitll suffer from in America today.

Just ask yourself this simple question. If Trayvon had been white - would he still have suffered the same fate?

        Unequivocally NO!

This is a previous Daily Kos diary by lollydee = that I missed when researching = because it said Shoots and not kill or murder. But it makes an excellent strong point. The man (George Zimmerman) had to go out of his way, to get out of his car and start an altercation with Trayvon). Even if he didn't get out, if your a person, being followed by a vehicle - how would you react?

UPdating this D with a Thank You to all fellow Kossac's

who helped with Trayvon's Mother Petition long ago - when the local authorities were trying so hard to coverup/ bury the case from further investigation.

KUDOs to you all for helping to make a difference!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
