As a father of a lovely daughter, it pains me to even imagine what the Santorum family is going through with the hospitalization of Isabella Santorum.
My prayers with Isabella and her family on Easter Sunday.
Update 1: Now that Baby Bella is back home and recovering well and Papa Santorum has suspended his campaign, i have a few questions for him. Jump after the fold for the questions that i would love Santorum to answer
Tue Apr 10, 2012 at 1:58 PM PT: Update: Now that Bella is safely back home and i thank the Lord for his mercy on the little one, i want to ask Papa Santorum the following questions:
1. As a father, weren't you deeply disturbed when Bella had to be hospitalized so that you stopped the campaign for the #1 job in US?
2. How would you want fathers and mothers who face similiar situation to be equipped? Wouldn't it be nice if parents weren't worried about the hospital bill and divert all their energy to get their loved ones back home and healthy?
3. If you agree that the health of the loved ones should have higher priority over hospital bill payment, what is wrong in making a mandate that precludes healthcare providers from denying coverage for pre-existing condition, allowing children to stay on parent's healthcare and value based payment - significant traits of the ACA aka Obamacare bill
4. If you consider USA to have the best healthcare system and have many parents wonder how to afford treatment, how is it the best? Also, if Bella and you lived in Canada or Sweden or Denmark, wouldn't you have faced lesser concerns on healthcare payment? If so, how is their system lesser compared to ours? Request you not to confuse between healthcare system (as operated by health insurance companies) to health infrastructure (hospitals, doctors, nurses) which is the best globally
5. If there is a conservative option for healthcare to replace Obamacare, what is it? If it Singapore system - healthcare accounts - why are its fundamentals - mandate, govt oversight different than Obamacare?
As a father who has agonized over the health of your daugther, my sympathies are with you. As a politician who ran for the top office, don't you believe that you have the responsibility in answering these questions.
