It`s the biggest question hanging over Gov. Scott Walker's recall election, according to Daniel Bice`s No Quarter in the Journal/Sentinel this morning and a host of former prosecutors and judges to the John Doe criminal probe being done by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm.
Will Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm file additional criminal charges as part of his John Doe probe before the June 5 election?
It has been two years since John Chisholm has been looking into what many of us here at DailyKos view as criminal activities by Walkers lackeys, and by Scott Walker as well.
So far, prosecutors have brought charges against three ex-Walker aides, one appointee and a major campaign contributor. Chisholm has sent strong signals that additional charges are in the offing.
I for one cannot wait for John Chisholm to act. However, I see
No Quarter and the article by
Dan Bice to mean the status quo of politics are starting to raise its ugly head. The usual suspects claim one thing and another that all lead to, well, political bias.
"One approach is to put blinders on and try to do whatever would have happened without the election. Another is to attempt to separate prosecution and politics by waiting until after the election, no matter who might be helped," Franke said. "I prefer the second choice, but either way, the prosecutor will be accused of political bias."
William Jennaro, who served 12 years on the bench after working as a Milwaukee County prosecutor, suggested a moratorium on new criminal charges in the 30 days before an election. Jennaro said he believes Chisholm, a Democrat, could initiate new charges against aides to the Republican governor before May 5 - but not after.
"That would shout partisanship," said Jennaro, who has given primarily to Democratic candidates. "The fact that the election is coming up - and there's a date specific - is a known factor, and fairness would dictate respecting a neutral time zone."
Like many Kossacks, I know that Walker has many deep pocket friends and this makes me uneasy that this case has taken so long. We all know that Chisholm has an ace under his sleeve with Darlene Wink. If you recall she is supposed to rat on what the Milwaukee County Prosecutor wants to hear. Darlene Wink is the strongest
head ache for Scott Walker because she knows everything about the destruction of
evidence in the form of digital evidence.
It would be a blast to learn that Walker ordered the destruction of this incriminating
evidence. So let`s hope Scott Walker continues to cooperate with the probe.
NOTE: Prior to going to the Publication Manger to have this diary up, I will look around to see if PuttyTat has written on this case this morning. I can hardly wait to read what she has to say.
Nope, she`s not around on the board, here goes......
