On June 5th, In New Jerseys 10th Congressional District we vote to see will replace the recently passed Congressman Donald Payne.
His son is running, hes an empty suit machine dem, and in no way resembles his father who had one of the best voting records in the country..... I've met him, and talked to him. ANd he holds 2 jobs, in NJ thats a no no. Newark City Councilman and Essex County Freeholder, both elected positions.
So we have Ron C Rice, Dean supporter whos a policy wonk, & a 2 term Newark City councilman. An awesome progressive Dem. Ron was really early on Obama, he headed up the draft Obama movement in 2006.
& Nia Gill, State senator, good progressive, except she voted to privatize NJ public TV : NJN chanel 12. In other words she voted with Chris Christie, the truly awful GOP Governor of NJ.
& Donald Payne Jr, he keeps putting his foot in his mouth proving hes an air head. But the county machine gave him Line "A" in the June 5th primary. And hes a likely Norcross Dem.
This election will be decided by the democratic primary June 5th, because the republican will get 30% in Nov.
If Nia Gill and Ron C Rice split the progressive vote it likely means Donald Payne JR will win. That would be a shame.

I first met Ron in early 2006 at a DFA meeting in NJ, Ron is a founding member of the NJ chapter of DFA. Ron was running for Newark City council in the west ward, and well, I was flush so I wrote him a $200 check.
Ron will probably win Newark, but the suburban vote will go for a split, between Nia Gil and Donald Payne jr and Ron Rice, with Payne picking up the lions share.
Oh and Payne is running on Line "A", did I mention that?
Ron Rice is running on Line "B".
And incidentally, Moveon.org is helping to organize progressive dems to run for county committee on Line "B". They have nearly 50 candidates for County Committee. Ron Rice, coincidentally has about 150 county committee candidates also running on line "B".
And..... Neil Gorfinkle who is an SEIU organizer (Deaniac), has been working on an insurgency movement in the county committee for over 2 years.
Right, it could get interesting in Essex county NJ on June 5th....
Remember the old Dean thing about writing checks with the 1 cent? $20.01?
Right- LOL- we still do it. I wrote Ron a $60.01 check last week at a house party, where Ron picked up his $2,500 check from DFA, which comes with the DFA endorsement.
You can help.... yes, the ask...... 5 bucks and one cent... gotta have the one sent. But only if you can afford it, only if your rent is paid and you have food on the table.
And under no circumstances forget to put the one cent in there.......
Act Blue for Ronald C Rice for Congress
