8:48 PM PT: I'm not seeing anything in the relevant section of South Carolina election law which would allow either the Democratic Party or the board of elections to simply delete Ted Vick's name from the ballot, or that allows Vick to request they do so. In fact, quite the opposite. See Sec. 7-11-15(3):
No candidate's name may appear on a primary election ballot, convention slate of candidates, general election ballot, or special election ballot, except as otherwise provided by law, if (1) the candidate's statement of intention of candidacy has not been filed with the County Election Commission or State Election Commission, as the case may be, by the deadline and (2) the candidate has not been certified by the appropriate political party as required by Sections 7-13-40 and 7-13-350, as applicable. The candidate's name must appear if the candidate produces the signed and dated copy of his timely filed statement of intention of candidacy.
8:48 PM PT (jeffmd): 100% of precincts are now reporting in AR-01, where Clark Hall continues to trail Scott Ellington by 259 votes. Still no call from the AP, though.
8:51 PM PT: The AP has now also called the ME-Sen GOP primary for Secretary of State (not an elected position) Charlie Summers. He'll face Dem state Sen. Cynthia Dill and independent ex-Gov. Angus King this November.
8:52 PM PT: By the way, Summers has only 29% of the vote. Yes, it's a crowded field, but that sure is a very small plurality. Treasurer Bruce Poliquin is in second with 23%.
8:53 PM PT: And let me clarify my point about Vick above: His name wasn't merely erased from the ballot. Actual people cast actual votes for him, and now the elections commission and the AP are pretending like those votes don't exist at all.
8:58 PM PT (jeffmd): Cochise County is now entirely reporting in AZ-08, where Barber outran Obama by 6.2. We'll see how much Pima election-day votes change things, but Barber will finish around 52%.
9:00 PM PT: The ME-01 GOP primary is tight as a tick. Some Dude Patrick Calder leads state Senate Majority Leader Jon Courtney by 139 votes with 72% counting. That's an even 50-50 percentage-wise.
9:02 PM PT (jeffmd): A big dump of votes from Pima County, too, where Kelly's overperformance in precinct votes is less noticeable. Barber is running +6.8 on Obama district wide, including +7.2 in Pima County. This one's over, folks.
9:08 PM PT: The AP has just called the ND-AL GOP primary for Kevin Cramer, who beats Brian Kalk 54-46. He'll face Democrat Pam Gulleson in November. I'd also like to point out that Mason-Dixon's poll of the primary from just a few days ago had Cramer winning by 39 points.
9:17 PM PT (jeffmd): In NV-04, Barbara Cegavske has a slight 30-28 lead over Danny Tarkanian in Clark County, but Tark is destroying her in the rural counties 49-17. The rural counties are 11% of the district's population...but much more of the GOP primary electorate.
9:21 PM PT (James L): The AP has just called the AR-01 Dem primary for prosecutor Scott Ellington, who beat state Rep. Clark Hall by just over 250 votes in the runoff election. He'll face Republican incumbent Rick Crawford in November.
9:24 PM PT: From SCNOW on the SC-07 Dem primary situation:
It is unclear whether or not simply removing Vick’s results is appropriate or even legal. Since Vick was still a qualified candidate and technically eligible for vote, some officials with the S.C. Democratic Party are saying ballots cast for the Chesterfield County representative should count.
Sources connected to the state Democratic Party said they are looking into the matter and if Vick’s results are not counted by the election commission, legal action may be taken.
9:30 PM PT (jeffmd): More Pima votes in AZ-08, bringing the district to 66% fully reporting. Barber's running +6.88 ahead of Obama, including +7.17 in Pima; anticipating the AP call any moment now...
9:41 PM PT: The liveblog continues here.
