Wayne LaPierre was not always President of the National Rifle Association. Not too long he was only Executive Vice President of the NRA, in charge of stoking the flames of fear.
Obama’s Secret Plan To Destroy The Second Amendment By 2016
by Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President -- nrapublications.org

Over the past three years, the Obama administration and its anti-gun allies have been engaged in a silent but sophisticated long-term conspiracy to:
1. Neutralize gun owners and NRA voters as a political force in national elections, and thereby:
2. Win re-election to a second term in the White House, where they then will be immune to the will of voters and free to continue consolidating and misusing their ever-increasing power to:
3. Prosecute a full-scale, sustained, all-out campaign to excise the Second Amendment from our Bill of Rights through legislation, litigation, regulation, executive orders, judicial fiat, international treaties—in short, all the levers of power of all three branches of government.
And the key to their success lies in keeping gun owners like you in the dark.

Since then, the White House has maintained almost military discipline in its “don’t talk about gun control” directive. Whenever anyone breaks rank on that issue, they’re quickly brought back to toe the line.
For example, within a week of their election victory, the Obama-Biden transition team had posted a web page—at change.gov—that listed several anti-gun objectives as priorities, including:
• Permanently re-imposing the Clinton gun bans
• Opening up sensitive BATFE gun “trace” data for manipulation by anti-gun politicians
• Imposing restrictions that would severely restrict gun shows
You can bet some webmaster lost his job over that mis-step, because within days the web page, and its anti-gun agenda items, disappeared into cyberspace.

If it sounds like a Conspiracy Theory, full of black helicopters and secret cabals, well that really did not stop the LaPierre anti-Obama wild-fire from spreading far and wide.
Just check out this Google Search using 2 phrases, to see how far Wayne LaPierre's words have echoed:
"Obama's secret plan" "destroy the second amendment"
Where are those darn Fact-checkers when we our Kids need them?
Thankfully not all NRA members are as worried as their "NRA president" is, about Obama's true intentions:
NRA Member Calls Wayne LaPierre ‘Over The Edge,’ Says Others ‘Think He’s A Wingnut’
by Ben Armbruster, thinkprogress.org -- Apr 14, 2012
ST. LOUIS, MO — National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre has been trying to convince NRA members and the public at large of a grand conspiracy theory that President Obama wants to eliminate the Second Amendment and take away everyone’s guns. “All that first term, lip service to gun owners is just part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment during his second term,” he said in February. LaPierre picked up on this fearmongering in a speech at the NRA meetings in St. Louis yesterday, saying that “all across the country people are worried” that Obama is going to eliminate gun rights.
ThinkProgress spoke with one NRA member today in St. Louis who said LaPierre is “over the edge,” calling his theory about Obama’s secret plan to eliminate the Second Amendment “extreme language”:
TP: What do you think about what he said, I think it was yesterday, about the president and the Second Amendment? Do you believe in what he says that --
NRA MEMBER: No I don’t. I think there are a lot of people in the NRA that are not victimized by some of the extreme language. A lot of people believe it because that’s all they hear but I don’t think our government is out to take away all guns.

NOT so thankfully, some have taken the LaPierre "Secret Plan" theory to
unbelievable extremes. Fast-forward from those early LaPierre-inspired days ...
Fast-forward to now, and that wild-fire internet machine:
Sandy Hook Child Murders Crafted to Gut 2nd Amendment

What makes the killings of innocent men, women and children at Sandy Hook, Connecticut even more reprehensible, is that there is already substantial evidence to point to a staged government psy-op! That is, the official story of yet another ‘lone’ gunman going berserk may really have been another staged event to push naive, low-information Americans, led by a primed American media, to demand “gun control” as a panacea and a preventative so that such horrific violence would never happen again.
We are told by the lemming lame stream media that the lone gunman, Adam Lanza, 20, came to school with weapons and went on a shooting spree, killing 20 children, and 6 adults, including his mother, before killing himself. No motivation is offered, other than he was a loner who had problems relating to people, despite the fact that he was quite intelligent. No one event seemed to precipitate this outburst of violence. Yet already there are major discrepancies in this very pat story which seems tailor made to push the Obama/Progressive disarmament gun-control agenda to fruition.

But perhaps there was someone else committing this crime. Eye witnesses describe two men running into the woods at the time of the shooting, and YouTube video shows the police actually catching one of these men, who is wearing a dark jacket and camouflage pants! Yet he protested his innocence (innocence of what? How did he know anything had happened, and if he were innocent, then why did he run away from the police?) There is also a YouTube audio of police calls (lasting 37 minutes) where this man is apprehended by the police and made to lay on the ground in a ‘prone position.’
Unfortunately, young Adam Lanza, the alleged lone gunman, supposedly shot and killed himself, so we will never be able to ask him why he supposedly did it. Nor will we be able to ascertain that he was as much of a ‘patsy’ as Lee Harvey Oswald. [...]
O.M.G. What a cynical insult to the memories of all those that died that day.
Well you know what Carl Sagan used to say ... "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."
Start proving it, Wayne. And Wayne-want-a-bees.
Until then seems that it's Wayne LaPierre and his audience, who are the ones with the fear-laden agenda. Obama just has a plan to help keep kids more safe and sound.
And if they had bothered to check -- they'd find out that Obama's recent common-sense Executive Actions, do not in any way, shape, or form -- resemble Wayne LaPierre "secret plan" conjectured, not that many years ago.
Of course that pre-supposes that they were really reality-based, and actually cared about checking the evidence. Instead of simply telling tall tales. And running to the hills in order to escape "Obama's Secret Plan."
In other words, running to escape into ... "The World according to Wayne LaPierre."
