Republicans are in a bind.
Do they change with the times, with the American people;
or do they hang onto the past, and their anti-government rhetoric?
Decisions, decisions.
Choose A, and they look waffely and wrong. Choose B, and they look mean and out of touch.
Decisions, decisions. Some might call it the Republican Party's Catch-22 ...
Catch-22 (logic) -- from Wikipedia
A catch-22 is a paradoxical situation in which an individual cannot or is incapable of avoiding a problem because of contradictory constraints or rules.[1] Often these situations are such that solving one part of a problem only creates another problem, which ultimately leads back to the original problem. Catch-22s often result from rules, regulations, or procedures that an individual is subject to but has no control over.
Often referred to as:
Damned if you do; damned if you don't.
Pick one Republicans: Evolve or go Extinct ...
Growth a heart ... or Lose your seat!
The Republican Party is facing, what is to them, an unpalatable dilemma:
Okra or Brussel Sprouts. Yumm!
They Republicans, can keep choosing Rush and Norquist and Cantor, and they can keep losing;
Or they can choose to accept the bluntness of David Brooks, learn to like the mushy-middle of Joe Scarborough, and take the leap onto the Christie bandwagon,
-- as the NJ Governor continues to call out his obsolete Party, for their constant stupidity and heartless hypocrisy.
What a choice. Some might call it their Catch-22. Or even that Brand-R is severely tainted.
The Republican Party will soon have to choose,
Is it Obstructionist "business a usual," or is it time to finally get stuff done?
If your stonewalling didn't work, hey maybe talking and compromising just might?
