?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

  •  Just a thought----listing emails openly can be a (6+ / 0-)

    potential problem, just sayin'

Some prefer not to do so.

Can't attend---hope it is hugely successful.

  •  keeping an eye on the weather (6+ / 0-)

the guy on channel 6 just said the computer models are backing off from the possibility of a storm Saturday, so hopefully will make it.

And hoping the friends I usually ride with are going (#9 & 10), but haven't gotten an answer from them yet.

If they back out, may be looking to meetup with one of the Portland peeps to share a ride the rest of the way.  :)

  •  I'll be able to make it (5+ / 0-)

Thanks to the generosity of my uncle.

And this is OT, but germaine to New England Kossacks:

My uncle was able to store most of my things, but most of his storage space was taken up by an unexpected move home by one of my cousins (otherwise all my things, and most likely I, would be esconsed there).

But there is about a pallet's worth of floor space of things that still need a home while I straighten out my situation. And I have no where to put it. I do not want to lose half of my possesions again, no matter how meagre they are. :(

Unless a miracle happens (and I'm industriously working towards one), everything needs to be out before the 17th. If anyone can help with this, I would be beyond grateful.

If you can help, either Kos mail me, or (prefered) email me at lorelei at roadrunner dot com.

Thanks, and I can't wait to see everybody!

thought it depends on whether or not I have grand boys and finding out just why my car's check engine light came on tonight.

I was so hoping to take the train down, silly me. :(

I will be driving down to Portland Friday for the funeral - a three hour trip.  It seems crazy to drive back, then turn around and drive even further the next day, but I really want to do both.
I'm contemplating staying over somewhere (super cheap), connecting with whomever I can for breakfast on Saturday, then just lollygagging around like a tourist until the meet up.  I'd appreciate any suggestions for lodging, etc.

... although I'd rather see you at the meet-up without there having been a need for the funeral.

We've never met (I don't think) but you'll recognize me at the funeral if you click on my user ID and look at the picture, except the cat will not be coming with me.  :-)

My avatar is unhelpful for ID - however, despite being an old DFH, I still look so like any Altar Guild flower committee chair you've ever encountered, that even a detailed description would not be useful.  ;-)

    ... much as I wish I could.

I'm on call starting Friday night, and someone is doing something with the mainframe that could have an impact on the system I support.  Plus, snow will be moving into my company's service area on Saturday afternoon which could mean enough outages to turn on a subsystem of my system that requires constant monitoring.

In either case I have to be available, and in the latter case "available" means "on-site."

I also cannot go to the broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera's production of "Rigoletto" in a movie theater in Brunswick, which is especially disappointing since Mr. L actually said he wanted to see it, something that hasn't happened since we saw the City Opera production of Carlisle Floyd's "Of Mice and Men" in 1998 or 1999.

Entirely too many things going on in one day!

    dog sled to do it!

The weather report has improved, so it shouldn't be a problem.

This one is going to be bittersweet, as it will be my first.  I choose to go with the "sweet" and celebrate with a community that rocks.  srsly and amen.
