The Kos Katalogue is a wonderful thing. Here are our fellow Kossacks of many and varied artistic and crafty persuasions presenting their works for your eye and your buy, all spread before you in the greatest cornucopia we can bring together as a group.
It's not too early to start holiday shopping, and it's not too early to set aside something special as a birthday gift for someone who has a holiday-time birthday and often gets his or her gifts for the holiday and the birthday combined into one. As someone with a mid-December birthday, I can go through all the ways that this hurts us and pisses us off, but this is not the place for that. This diary is the place for jewelry made by Kossacks.
You're a wonderful person, and so are the people you know. You deserve to celebrate yourself, and one great way to do this is to ornament yourself. This is true whether you are male or female. There are selections herein that aren't just for women. And, of course, there are lots of things for women, too.
Please make sure you hotlist the mothership diary with all Kos Katalogue offerings so you're two short clicks away from delights made by members of our community for each other.

Beachcombings has sterling silver jewelry featuring sea glass and other things from the beach as well as semi precious stones. Artistic, classic, very beautiful. The artist is the wife of Kossack rambler american. I can't get a good image to come over; go look for yourself at these gorgeous pieces. I particularly like the prisms.
David M Bowman is a shop for patinaed brass metalwork -- candlesticks, Menorahs, vases, clocks, jewelry and more...this is a father/son family business. Household pieces are also available here and small gifts are here. Run by Kossacks rcbowman and dabug.

edrie makes custom designed jewelry out of high grade pearls and jade and natural stones (amethyst, garnet, lapis lazuli and more). She specializes in birthstone and healing stones. By the way, if anybody in my family is looking, I would really love this necklace!

MayroseTreasures is a shop with gossamer silver jewelry by Kossack mayrose
I am not sure mayrose is still doing this. Her shop is bare and an inquiry there didn't get an answer yet, so please inquire if you're interested in her work. Having seen it before, I can assure you it's lovely. My apologies! I apparently followed a link that took me to a wrong place, an old shop location perhaps. The link here will take you to a well stocked shop, and just look at that silver necklace!

North Star Armoury is Kossack Alice Venturi's store for re-enactor-grade historical jewelry. She also has an Etsy shop which carries a wider variety of historically-inspired jewelry.

Nwyvre Weave Wyrks is a place for colorful chain mail jewelry. There is something for everyone here -- including pagan and pride themed work.
NwyvreWeaveWyrks is, unfortunately, going out of business in October. He's having a July sale, so this is the time to find what you want. After this, he'll be taking commissions (I've already been talking with him about one), but won't have a shop. The economy, especially for arts like this, is deadly to artists. He's been at this over thirty years and is the best I've ever seen at chainmaille, so go take a look, please.

Swirlscape is shop where you can find faerie jewelry and belly dance hip scarves. Kossack Bright is the proprietor.

Windthin, run by Kossack allergywoman and her husband, sells hand-made jewelry, ably assisted by their feathered family members.

Wings: Hands on Silver Exquisite Native American silver jewelry by Wings -- the beautiful spirit in this jewelry is palpable. Treat yourself or someone you love! THIS IS OUR STORY I have three pieces by Wings and I wear them everywhere. We're going to a movie and pizza party this evening at a candidate's house and I'm wearing a plain black dress with an ivory crinoline and my Wings belt, Wings turquoise cuff, and Wings necklace. I need no other ornamentation.
This is my turquoise cuff by Wings.
Now that you have all this great jewelry, you need a place to put it. I highly recommend:
Laughing Coyote Woodworks. This is fat old man's shop. He makes fireplace bellows and clocks, but over the years has built everything from a rocking alien creature to burial caskets to signs. He loves "oddball" projects.
One of the projects he took on is our beloved late dog Raven's urn. Raven's name was a tribute to Coast Salish origin stories, where Raven brought back the sun to man; her registered name was to be Tealwin's Here Comes the Sun until we changed it, like a bunch of sentimental saps, to Tealwin's Unchained Melody to name it after our song. But the meaning of the name remained, and all through her life was a living tribute to that origin story. We wanted a special urn for our dear, and fat old man built us a beauty out of dark-stained walnut, carved with her name on the top and a Coast Salish style raven's head on the side.
Wouldn't something like this be perfect for storing all your Kossack-made jewelry?

Building Community. Creating Jobs. Donating Art to Community Organizations.
Kos Katalogue Blogathon: July 10-July 12, 2013
Daily Kos is the best progressive website for a good reason: it has, by far, the most vibrant, dynamic, and supportive online community. While policy and political issues dominate everyday debates and conversations, it is the participation, dedication, and caring attitudes exhibited by the blog's members that has made this place unique among online communities. In short, you are responsible for its success over the past eleven years since 2002.
When you decide to buy online gifts for friends and family members or for your own personal use, please consider buying an item or two from Kos Katalogue. By supporting the Daily Kos Community small businesses, you encourage job creation. With millions of average Americans struggling in this fragile economy, sensible economic proposals emanating from Washington, DC and the corporate sector are non-existent and, thus far, unable to stimulate sufficient job growth.
Kos Katalogue consists of dozens of online stores, encompassing the talents of hundreds of brilliant, creative people and featuring unique items for sale. It also connects our online community with towns and cities across the United States. For example, with generous financial support from our community members, the Gallery Kos Community Art Project has donated artwork to community organizations around the country. Such initiatives by members of Kos Katalogue facilitate networking in the real world and strengthen community ties.
A Personal Request from Patriot Daily News Clearinghouse, Aji, and JekyllnHyde
Both sisters have been an integral part of Daily Kos for a long time. In years past, the three of us have worked with them on several occasions in many blogathons and other special projects. For as long as we can remember, they have selflessly comforted others in need and helped to foster a strong sense of community. Now, they need our help.
Sara (Sara R) and Ann (winglion) are facing some hefty medical bills, vet bills for their beloved pooties, and a host of other economic issues. If you can help, please go to PayPal.com and make a contribution to rainwoman AT mac DOT com.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
