i am at a loss for words...
the suspect has been identified as barry white, jr, 23 yrs old, of antioch.

he had been in the store the day prior (so he knew the layout of the vault).

he had a rifle in his truck

he is suing the city of antioch over alleged "civil rights violations" in a case that has been stayed pending the outcome of the 69 felonies with which is is currently charged on other unrelated charges.  something tells me now that this "lawsuit" is going nowhere!

those who "support" him made this astounding statement on their blog tonite:

This is not a coincidence. The police worked with snitch/ neighborhood watch types known as "gang stalking groups" to harass the shooter day and night until he had a breakdown and went postal. This is a story literally exploding across the country.

so, because of this Fuck the Police mantra, two innocent women, Khin Min, 35 years old and Lini Lim, 51, are dead and the owner is in critical condition?  for WHAT!  because this little gangbanger felt "persecuted"?  what had they EVER done to HIM?  oh.  i get it.

easy targets.  pick people who can't fight back. be a BIG man to your "buddies" because you went "postal". cuz, FTP, you know - and all that...

i am SO angry right now!

this 23 yr old and his "gang" have been "stalked" by "snitch/ neighborhood watch types" - so he has to go into san francisco, go into the jewelry mart and murder two chinese women and shoot the owner and stab him?  were THEY stalking this creep?

were THEY interfering with his rights (to be in a gang and own guns)?

what the HELL is wrong in this country! what the hell is wrong with US!  if we don't take off our blinders and start examining our own damned attitudes within our communities, this is going to happen over and over again.

i am tired of losing people i care about.  i am tired of seeing injustice.  i am TIRED of hearing justifications where none is due - from zimmerman to white to snowden to everyone else who triggers "ideology" instead of critical thinking.  i'm tired of people making gross generalizations instead of looking at specific situations and making informed decisions.

my friends are dead.  there is no bringing them back. words fucking matter.  throwing about incendiary language when there are people who are truly unhinged is giving them an excuse to act.

my friends were killed because some creep felt "picked on" and had to "go postal" to make his point (according to that article defending his actions).  the police were picking on him.  ftp! (only the police weren't the ones who paid the price, were they?) he didn't get to go out in his "blaze of glory" - the police refused to shoot at him because of the people who would be endangered.  so he ran out of bullets.  and threw out his gun and lay down prone to wait to be arrested.

i'm sure he'll now add this to his charges that the police are picking on him - perhaps he'll now sue san francisco police. and now he gets to be a big man on (the prison) campus.

i am against the death penalty, but it is times like this that my beliefs are sorely tested. (and, no, i am STILL not in support of the death penalty - but i DO support life without parole)

we live in a very very sick society.

words matter.  OUR words matter.  how we use them and why matter!  for god's sake, people - PLEASE think carefully before throwing around rhetoric - it is a major part of the problem here!  WORDS MATTER!

i want to go be with my horse - and avoid people totally, at this point.

i am very angry.  this whole thing makes me sick.

3:38 AM PT: this is a photo of the killer.  the chairs are outside dos amigos, not the gift center.

i know the owner of victoga, this is not him - it is the murderer.

4:09 AM PT: here is the actual filing of white's "case" against antioch - seems this isn't the first time he has had gun issues.

4:24 AM PT: it's almost 4:30 am - again.  i can't sleep.  i am going to turn off the computer and try... good night all... stay safe. please.

oh, and please take a minute to go read this diary - it is about the same thing...

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  He is a thug and he committed armed robbery and (6+ / 0-)

murder.  Nothing postal or none his civil rights taken away.

I live in Florida and did some internet research on the Stand your ground law.  When it became law the self defense cases double over night practically.  The ones who plea this the most is usually drug dealers and criminals shooting each other.  He was a punk who was trying to use the system to his advantage.

I am so sorry for your loss.

    •  thank you - i agree - a punk thug - not an (2+ / 0-)

innocent teen minding his own business walking home.  this thug killed in cold blood... why? because he felt "picked on"?

in this article, the photo shown doesn't clarify who is being transported - but it is the damned bastard who did this.  i know the owner - this is not him.  the tables and chairs are from dos amigos restaurant where he tried to hide.

it is all i can do not to waste energy wishing him ill - i know that only hurts me, not him - so i wish for justice.

i wish for the justice that trayvon martin did NOT get.

i wish for justice for khim and lina and vic.

i wish for justice in this unjust world.

he had a score to settle with his earlier purchase.  I just read all your links.  He had quite a history of assault with a weapon.

        •  i don't think there was any "score" to settle - (2+ / 0-)

this is the best gold dealer in the jewelrymart - by far the best prices and good selection and service.

it also is the easiest in and out of the vault - just a straight path down the steps and into their door.

the killing was vicious - he used both knife and gun - this isn't normal - from the description of where the girls were found, it sounds like they were trying to get away - the owner sits in the back of the large open space - behind a counter.  the girls are always behind the counters in front or to the right of the door.

his actions afterward are just crazy - he ran out of the building through a large open seating area, through an entryway and out onto the street where he was met by incoming police who didn't know if he was a victim or not - he was covered in blood.  when they tried to ask him, he pulled a gun and started firing at them while running down toward 7th ave on brannan.

he ran into dos amigos - it was filled with customers - and he kept shooting out at the police until he ran out of bullets.

then he threw the gun out and lay down to wait to be arrested.

that is NOT a simple "beef" over a purchase - that is insanity.

the reports coming out today said that he had a rifle in the back seat of his vehicle.  it just doesn't make any sense.

what possible "disagreement" could he have with a gold merchant other than not having enough money to make a purchase?  that isn't a reason to come back and kill.  to get into the vault, you have to know where you're going and what you want to purchase and you have to be known or a wholesaler.  23 yr old gang members just don't "walk in" and buy anything.

perhaps, if anything, he tried to come in and buy but, with no resale license, what would have happened, he would have had to pay taxes.  still no reason to do such slaughter.

just saw an update with an interview with another of my silver people, sam davis. so many faces - so much pain there.  he had to go in today - said the police are escorting folks into their showrooms and out today but that very few came in.

we ALL know everybody - sellers, buyers - we ALL know each other there!

    •  it starts with children - and education - and (0+ / 0-)

proper health care - it starts with the stupidity of the drug war and with children born of addicted mothers who have suffered during development.

it starts with a society that lacks empathy for those who are "different" and continues with lack of opportunity, jobs, a future.

it continues through apathy and hatred and jealousy and justification that those who do this are "different" (less than human).

we need to STOP it by realizing NO child is born this way - they learn to hate, to judge, to envy, to become the way they are.

we have to fix the social illness that is turning us into isolated, uncaring, judgemental, cold people - in ALL countries where this occurrs.

in turkey, many years ago, two female friends were beaten walking on the street while not "properly dressed" (western tourist clothing of slacks and modest top).

education - that seems to be the starting place. yet, in this nation, there is a systematic move by elements on the right to destroy our once proud education system - and, even on the left, there is some denigration of higher education as expressed even on this site lately.

we have a problem.  as i said earlier, i don't know if we can fix that problem.
