Of course, it can get better and will get better if you guys get fired up and continue to show support.
Doug LaMalfa has made headlines in news as of recently, acting like a typical hypocritical Republican Congressman who believes the situation affecting the poor should be deferred to churches.
Riiiiiiiiiight. Churches will be able to reduce the unemployment situation in California. Good one there Congressman.

OROVILLE — About 50 people rallied by Democratic groups Thursday protested votes by Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-Richvale, to not fund the Affordable Care Act, shutting down the federal government.
Protesters at LaMalfa's Oroville office also opposed his vote with other Republicans in the House of Representatives to cut food stamp benefits by $40 billion over the next decade.
Karen Duncanwood complained LaMalfa gets farm subsidies while voting to cut food stamps for children.
Justin Meyers, chairman of the Butte County Democratic Party, said the group had to support the rally organized by the Oroville Area Democratic Club.
Meyers said LaMalfa votes the Republican party line and not for the people in his district.
Duncanwood brought flowers to give to LaMalfa's staff despite the protesters' opposition to Lamalfa's policies.
LaMalfa has in the past commented to news agencies that the government should not support subsidies to he poor, which should be the job of churches, according to a Sept. 20 story at www.latimes.com/business.
By the way, Heidi Hall was kind enough to show support for the protesters rallying at LaMalfa's Oroville office.
Here's what Hall said on her Facebook page in the photo caption:

Redding activists rallying at LaMalfa's office today. I stopped by to offer support. We all have good reason to be deeply concerned about LaMalfa's irresponsible role in keeping the government closed.
Here's some recent activity at a parade back in July for the Heidi Hall for Congress Campaign:
In addition, Heidi Hall, a self-proclaimed social progressive/fiscal moderate has this to say about herself in her intention to seek out Democracy for America endorsement:

I believe our government is what we make it. The federal government should pursue measures that help working families and the middle class, because we are the ones who have given so dearly and invested so much to build this great nation.
As a mother I continue to advocate for good public schools, and believe in access to higher education for all who wish to continue learning and improving their skills. Education is an investment we should be happy to make.
Access to affordable, quality health care is a right, and ensuring such access is a duty that Congress must take seriously.
Keeping the promises of Medicare and Social Security—promises we’ve made to seniors who have fulfilled their obligations and deserve what they’ve earned—is an obligation that we cannot afford to ever forget. Nor can we deny current workers the opportunity to someday retire by taking these programs from them.
Protecting the environment and promoting sustainable growth is a necessity, and one that Congress can no longer ignore.
Defending the rights and liberties of women, minorities, the GLBT community, and immigrant communities is a fundamental obligation. Equality under the law is not a suggestion that Congress may ignore at its pleasure: it is a cornerstone of our Constitution, and must be honored as such.
So CA-01 residents, can you deal with this bozo as your Congressman?
OR
A progressive like Heidi Hall?
Yes, we know the 2012 Election results produced the following:

But what reason do we have to not be able to fire up the base in CA-01?
