ok I wasn't going to say anything but ...

as I wrote in my first comment last night regarding the flag

no relatives in her family
were in the military that I've ever heard of. Her husband was in the Navy.... And she went to an unaccredited college in Florida that you couldn't get a federal student loan for. She played the piano to earn money too. And she lived off the grid in Canada for some years during her childhood-won't talk about that. Her father was the Repub chair in the county in WA-helped her get that foot of hers in the door.
not fond of my Misrep ...obviously

adding a bit more..

They (her family) weren't rich but they are ideologues.
She and her brother went to Pensacola Christian College in Florida-non-accredited, publishes Christian home schooling stuff. She got an executive MBA at UW- but with that degree of hers I'm sure her connections helped.
She is a Rapturist.(Here's an old diary about that) Her father was the repub chair in Colville, north of Spokane. She got in as an aid to their state rep, when she was about 20, who shortly thereafter went into the state senate. They choose her to finish his term and then she was elected. Not hard in that ultra-conservative district.

After George Nethercutt snatched Speaker Thomas Foley's congressional seat and served for 5 terms (he was aaall about the term limits don't ya know) and after he finally decided to leave the House to try to get Sen Patty Murray's seat, he told McMorris the job was hers if she wanted it. That's what her brother said in an interview. She got trained by Newt Gingrich's organization with others like Bachman. She has the "perfect bio" for the repugs.  As a freshman congressperson she was immediately on the whip team under Tom Delay. Richard Pombo tagged her to head up hearings to destroy the EPA protections. And it's been like that ever since.

I would call her a prostitute cause she does what they want her to and she's had a very nice living in return. No problem taking the taxpayers money-she's so honored. (Been a long time since she had a job at McD's.) No questions asked. And that's no problem because she is a true believer.

Oh and coincidentally, her husband is the son of a former mayor of Spokane.
All about connections.

Bootlicking not bootstraps.

1:28 PM PT: Just for a little history refresher - I wrote this diary regarding McMorris Rodgers back in 2006. Just a lot of fun seeing folks nationally learning about her.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
