Good Thursday evening fellow venthooligans! Welcome to another Thursday night edition of the IVH!

Before we get all excited about who is on the LLS tonight or clips from last night, I would like to get something off my chest that has been bothering me since last night. I was born and raised in Oregon. 3rd generation, which is a long time since we became a state February 14, 1853. I love my state and all things Oregon. I have not, by choice and circumstance lived anywhere else. To my occasional regret, I haven't seen a whole lot of the other 49 states, except Hawaii. Most of the time I spend away from my main residence, two blocks away from the house I grew up in, I spend at the beach house my Dad built for our family 50 years ago. One thing I have learned about my fellow venthooligans is that we truly love where we live. Most of us live close to where we grew up. Mofo lives in the house on the lake his Dad and Grandfather built. crose lives in or around the property her parents left her. dsb is our Cali girl and her heart is definitely in San Francisco. commonmass loves his rock in Maine and his home in the first Portland. Man Oh Man is our Missouri guy, loves his big ole river, his Miz Zou Rah, and his home. Eric is our big city guy in NYC, Alex loves her Indiana home with the great seasons that sometimes cause her discomfort, but she's close to her boys and I wish she were closer to me because that lady can cook and I want to eat dinner at her house instead of drooling all over myself when I read about it! Long stuff short because I've got to get this in the queue, Can we just all get along? Let's just accept that we all love where we are, which is a good thing because if we didn't we'd be upset and unhappy and that would suck! I hereby propose to our high and mighty head hooligan Mofo. Can we amend our bylaw to include states in the flame war categories subject to punishment by a good hard whack on the butt with a brolly? All agree say AYE!

Guests tonight are Matt LaBlanc and Abby Cornish.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
