[do your thing Ted..]
..in all of politics is that the republicans are the party of the rich” – In response to that Senator Whitehouse busts out laughing and says this:
“..He actually meant to say they are the party of the super rich. It’s not enough just to be rich any longer, they’ve closed the aperture to where now they’re only listening to billionaires”
Senator Whitehouse was laughing. Hearing that, I did too. What else can one do in that moment of stunning dishonesty ?
Republican “leaders” lining up waiting, ready to kiss the ring
This is a shortened clip of Cruz launching another RWNJ fairy tale (short ad – sorry)
Full clip @ link with the following videos covering Jobs/report with Jared Bernstein of CBPP then Ari Melber: http://video.msnbc.msn.com/...
The full segment has good solutions and Dems pushing back against the latest myth that ‘republicans care about working folk too’ – they. do. not. care.
But from that stunningly untruthful moment we press on - and this is what we do
Progressive Dems are working to make sure that all people have a fair shot. The republicans are frantically working against that fair shot and against the truth about themselves, their agenda, and whose and only whose directives they obey - iow's when Dems hold the line, call them out, and stand strong - it works. it is working. Just watch Karl Rove dancing around lately if Ted Cruz is too convincing at proving his delusion to further the point, that is
- A fair deal for working folk that republicans will fight against forever - This message is a strong one that Dems should keep hammering home - imo
Again; hold strong and don't hesitate to call them out, on the spot with facts in hand

Meanwhile. Jobs and the economy a top priority for the vast majority of people. Dems have that covered here. Progressive caucus budget || A Budget that Would Make Our Economy #BetterOff by Nicole Woo @ CEPR| Wednesday, 12 March 2014 - with analysis of these provisions by CEPR's Dean Baker, CBPP's Jared Bernstein and others
♦ 8.8 million jobs by 2017; Mounting a sweeping New Deal-style attack on unemployment, including expansive public works.
♦ investments in infrastructure
♦ investments in clean energy: Putting a price on carbon to decrease the use of fossil fuels and incentivize a shift to renewables, while also whacking all subsidies to oil and gas companies.
♦ Overhauling the tax code to raise taxes on the wealthy back to levels that were the norm in the early postwar period, including a 49 percent top bracket, a new financial speculation tax, and making it much harder for corporations to evade taxes on foreign profits.
♦ fair and equal pay for women
♦ increase/adjust the minimum wage tied to cost of living
♦ reversal of sequestration and other spending cuts
♦ Reducing Pentagon spending.
♦ Actually increasing Social Security benefits.
♦ Providing funds to publicly finance election campaigns.
♦ Enacting a public option and other changes that would begin a much-needed next phase of health reform that builds on and improves the Affordable Care Act.
♦ funding for the long-term unemployed
♦ rehiring of state employees
♦ public works and job training programs
♦ Putting a price on carbon to decrease the use of fossil fuels and incentivize a shift to renewables, while also whacking all subsidies to oil and gas companies.
♦ with more but last on this summarized list and - imo - least; $4 trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10 years.

And just for fun in case you missed it, last month the director of four Harry Potter movies and actors from Love, Actually, Harry Potter and The Walking Dead teamed up on a tongue-in-cheek video about what it may be like in 10 years if Europe, with the exception of the UK, were to enact the FTT now | A Robin hood Tax
Enjoy:
with more good stuff @ CEPR
People will vote in their best interest and will be motivated to get out and do it when they see the clear divide between Progressive Dems populist Fair Deal, good paying jobs, and good health for themselves and the planet vs its opposite - the corpo polluting GOP
- Yeah we can do this, and make it count :)
