You may not be a person who needs to hear this, but there's probably someone in your life who does: there's always a reason to vote.
If you don't know what the reason is yet, that means a lot of other people aren't going to vote, and when turnout is poor, your own vote counts even more. And typically the bad guys count on low turnouts in off years to sneak something by that wouldn't fly otherwise.
I can't tell you what the reason is you should vote, I only really know what's going on in my own area. If you don't know yet, you need to dig in a little (probably not very much) and find out.
You may be able to vote in:
That last, the state-level "Secretary of State" is an often over-looked office, but it's extremely important if you care about election integrity. I can't even find a list of them for every state, but the Daily Kos endorsements include five of them (for Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada and Ohio). To that list I would add California where this is almost the only office the Republicans have a hope of winning this year.
Also, don't forget your local elections. Here in Oakland, for example, we've got a key mayoral race.
And even if you do know this all this already, now would be an excellent time to start gently nudging everyone else you know. "Oh, there's an election coming up on Nov 4th, isn't there? Hey, do you know who's running?"
