Just because an old white Guy who happens to believe ridiculously bigoted and ignorant things about black people can find a old black guy who will parrot those bigoted ignorant things right back to him, doesn't mean he's not a bigoted, ignorant racist. Case in point. Cliven Bundy and his new special black friend Steppin, er, I mean Kamau Bakari, Congressional Candidate for the American Independent Party.YouTube Video Follow me below the fold where we shall explore just how deep the derp herein lies within this 2 minutes of video.
Starting with one sentence from Eric Holder's speech on Race from 2009 where he stated among other things that "...in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards. " After which they have an explosion of hellfire-ish flames cover the screen. That's very cute, it's too bad they never bothered to actually listen to Eric Holder's full speech on that subject, because they didn't even include one complete sentence. Here's the larger context of what he actually said.
Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards. Though race related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race. It is an issue we have never been at ease with and given our nation’s history this is in some ways understandable. And yet, if we are to make progress in this area we must feel comfortable enough with one another, and tolerant enough of each other, to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us. But we must do more- and we in this room bear a special responsibility. Through its work and through its example this Department of Justice, as long as I am here, must - and will - lead the nation to the "new birth of freedom" so long ago promised by our greatest President. This is our duty and our solemn obligation. ... As a nation we have done a pretty good job in melding the races in the workplace. We work with one another, lunch together and, when the event is at the workplace during work hours or shortly thereafter, we socialize with one another fairly well, irrespective of race. And yet even this interaction operates within certain limitations. We know, by "American instinct" and by learned behavior, that certain subjects are off limits and that to explore them risks, at best embarrassment, and, at worst, the questioning of one’s character. And outside the workplace the situation is even more bleak in that there is almost no significant interaction between us. On Saturdays and Sundays America in the year 2009 does not, in some ways, differ significantly from the country that existed some fifty years ago. This is truly sad. Given all that we as a nation went through during the civil rights struggle it is hard for me to accept that the result of those efforts was to create an America that is more prosperous, more positively race conscious and yet is voluntarily socially segregated.
So yeah, Holder was saying that people should be able to say what they think openly, honestly, even brutally, about race. His point was, that we usually Don't. People are often embarrassed, and that things might turn personal and ugly if someone simply expresses what they believe. So in typical fashion, Cliven Bundy and his cohort completely fail to grasp what Holder meant in every measure. Cliven, thinks - and "thinks" should be in quotes here - he "thinks" that Holder is simply calling white people like him cowards, because that makes some kind of sense somewhere.
Cliven [wearing full cowboy cos-play gear]: Did he just call me a coward?
No, Cliven and let me be clear and completely UN-pc, you're not a coward, you're an ignorant fuckwad, he called "we, the nation" as having acted with cowardice and fear toward having honest, truthful discussions of race. He didn't name you. He didn't even know anything about you way back in 2009 when he first became Attorney General. None of what he said, was about You Cliven - so get over yourself.
Kamau: Naw, he just called all white folks cowards.
[Facepalm] Oh. my. frack. He said "we" numbnuts - that means [some, if not most] black folk as well as [some] white folk too.
Cliven: He must not know me
Uh well, duh!. Not in 2009 he didn't.
Kamau: You mean if someone called you a racist you wouldn't drop your head and be all scared and sad and run around here apologizing like them Billionaire Ball Team owners did a little while ago? Cliven: No, I wouldn't, I'm sick and tired of people that act like that.
No, of course he wouldn't because Cliven Bundy is a right proud bigoted, ignorant racist fuckwit, who has his good black Steppin, er, strategically black friend Kamau here to back him up and tell him that Donald Sterling should have been more proud of saying that he didn't want his girlfriend to bring black people to his ball games. And that black friend of course, is so well versed in the Donald Sterling situation he 1) can't even remember his name 2) can't remember the name of the team 3) doesn't seem to realize the last thing Donald Sterling did was apologize for anything, 4) that Sterling never even admitted that anything he said was "racist" in any way, 5) and Kamau didn't see Sterling fight the NBA tooth, hook and claw to keep his ownership of the Clippers and that 6) rather than "drop his head" he burst out in loud angry "Don't Touch Me" in the middle of court proceedings when his ex-wife came by to talk to him. If you like a postcard picture for Defiant Unrepentant Bigot, Donald Sterling's shriveled mug would be the perfect for it. Perhaps a better example of someone who "dropped their head" and apologized for their bigotry after being caught on tape calling black people "Nigger" and then having to testify about in court in a discrimination suit because that person liked to keep her black employees in the back out of sight, while the white ones went up front, would be Paula Deen. Of course some people will do anything to get back in the good graces of the Today Show and The Food Network, particularly when there's $Millions at stake. But never mind the obvious fact these guys knowing nothing about what the frack they're in the middle of talking about... let's move on.
Kamau: Cliven, you know that Political Correctness, that's bad for America. A man ought to be able to say what ever he wants to say. Cliven: That's exactly right.
Sure it is, dimbulb. And what is this "Political Correctness" he speaks of? Is that code for the ability of those in power and with privilege to talk shit about other people as a means of harassing, insulting, embarrassing and silencing them from pointing out that that somebody just said a pile of dumb-ass bigoted shit? I mean specific dumb-ass shit like Cliven's next sentence.
Cliven: I know, er, black folks, have had a hard time with, uh, slavery and, uh, y'know the government was in on it. The government's in on it again.
The government was "In on It"? No, actually it wasn't. It really, really fracking wasn't in on it. Slavery was a practice of Private Business Interests, not Government. The U.S. Government didn't buy and sell human people to other human people. That shit didn't happen. In fact the U.S. Congress was actually prohibited from changing any immigration laws for the first 20 years of this nation after the ratification of the Constitution. It wasn't until 1808 that Congress passed any laws having anything to do with Slavery, and that law was to ban the continued importation of African Slaves. Whether a private business could or couldn't use slave labor was a matter handled by the states up until the ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. The U.S. Government wasn't "In on it", the U.S. Government put an End to Slavery. Private business didn't do anything to stop it. The States didn't do it, well, not alone they didn't. It was President Lincoln with the Emancipation Proclamation [which freed some slaves, but not nearly all], and then the U.S. Congress that got the ball rolling to ultimate ratification. If you really want to talk about race, you really shouldn't start by slandering the U.S. Government for their actions then or now. Fact is I can find a dozen things that the U.S. Government did racially against our Native First Americans like the Trail of Tears, and things it did to the benefit of whites like the Homestead Act. Then there was the Tuskegee Experiment. Not to mention the Courts with Dred Scott and Plessy V Ferguson. There are things you can certainly criticize the U.S. Government for - but you really can't blame them for Slavery. Nope.
Cliven: I worked my whole life without mistreating anybody. A man ought to be able to express himself without being call names.
I'm sorry, is "Thieving Millionaire Deadbeat Welfare Cheat" a name? I thought it was a pretty accurate description of YOU Cliven, since you've taken advantage of the grazing land owned by the U.S. Government yet illegally refused to pay one $Million in cut-rate grazing fees for that use. And still, this frackhead - no, that's not a "name" it's a description of your mental processes, or lack there of - still has the chutzpah and gumption to go on to say that black people, are just looking for a handout. Yes, really.
Kamau: I hear you Cliven and I believe you. A white man like you might be just what we need to put an end to this political correctness stuff in America today.
Yeah, you tell him Steppin... we need more loudmouths with minimal brain capacity running for Congress. Yep, you betcha. Oh wait, it's the black guy whose running even though it sounded like he just endorsed Cliven, not the other way around.
Cliven: Don't sell yourself short, you're taking a chance just being in my company.
Way to pat the token, wholly-owned pocket darkie on the back and buck up his spirits there Cliven.
Kamau: I know, I'm as sick as you are. I'm ashamed when I hear black people whine about "white folks this.. and white folks that..." Always Begging
Yeah, like when that White Folk shot an unarmed kid because his music was "too loud"? Yeah, clearly the people complaining about that were just whining beggers. And when white cops shot an unarmed Michael Brown, and an unarmed John Crawford, and an unarmed Darrien Hunt, and an unarmed handcuffed Oscar Grant, and an unarmed Kendrec McDade and an unarmed Sean Bell and an unarmed Ezell Ford, and an unarmed Jonathon Ferrell and an unarmed Patrick Dorimond, and an unarmed Amadour Diallo... all the people that spoke up about this instead of being "ashamed" of themselves, where just "whining and begging" for something or the other... Wonder what that something could be? It's not like the likelihood of being killed by a cop is 21 Times Higher for a young black man than a white man, except that it is. Meanwhile when two white people from Cliven's own camp go traipsing down the street with a cart full of ammunition and "Revolution" propaganda on their lips happen to go off and Kill Two Cops, nobody stops to even hardly notice. Perhaps people are "begging" for something to be done about that?
Cliven: It's almost like black folks think white folks owe them something...
Oh, yeah, now I remember - that something is JUSTICE. That's what it is. We are owed Justice. Justice after 400 years of murder, torture, intimidation, terrorism and coercion. No, not just for the Slavery, but for the Jim Crow, for the Lynching, for the THEFT of our homes, our livelihoods, our jobs, our right to pick where we want to live, go to the schools we want to go to, work and start the business we want to start, and yes, even VOTE FOR WHO WE WANT TO VOTE FOR. The fact is that none of those things are properly protected. Not completely. Even after almost 100 years of the 14th Amendment which supposedly gave "equal protection of the laws" we didn't get equal protection from the law until the Civil Rights Act made it unlawful to deny us equal access. And the CRA is actually pretty weak sauce at getting the job done, meanwhile the Voting Rights Act was just weakened further last year. The fact is that because you make something illegal doesn't mean that people are going to stop doing it, and they haven't. We still have rampant racial employment discrimination, as well a loan and housing discrimination. These aren't just things "of the past", they continue today particular among people who walk around saying "black people are lazy begging whiners who think white folk owe them something..." People that think that aren't likely to hire a black person since he figures that guy is probably just a begging whiner. People like that aren't gonna give a black guy a loan to start a new business because he probably thinks he's "owed" something. Those guys wouldn't have anything to do with black people, unless they needed one nearby, who'll saying anything they want them to say, just to help clean up their image. Y'know anyone like that Cliven?
Kamau: I got an idea, let's call Eric Holder out!
[Double Facepalm!]
Cliven: What do you mean? Kamau: Tell him your a white man that's not scared to talk to him about race. And you know a black man that will stand with you. Cliven: I like that idea. Mr. Eric Holder, this is one white man that's not a-scared to talk about race. I dare you to come to Las Vegas and talk to us. Kamau: And don't give us that "You're too busy" stuff. You weren't too busy to go to Ferguson Missouri.
Oh. my. FUCK! Really? They think that Holder going to Ferguson was just a vacation stop or something? That it was like just for the Fun of it? Oh Crapnuggets. I can't find the words, I just cant... But I can find the pictures, this I think is what Cliven and his pal apparently think of Black People.YouTube Video Also this might be a better version of the image they were trying to make with their little ad.YouTube Video Vyan
