Still pals though, right?
Yesterday Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), still sore over having the
Benghazi! investigation yanked away from him, tried to crash a closed-door meeting of Rep. Trey Gowdy's (R-SC) Super-Select
Benghazi! Committee. He got booted out by
Trey Gowdy himself. No worries, though, it's just that Issa didn't understand these crazy rules about a "closed-door deposition" being "closed-door."
Right, Rep. Gowdy?
“There’s a rule — it’s an obscure rule — if you’re not a member of a committee, you can’t attend a deposition. You can attend a hearing. You can attend other meetings. But you can’t attend a deposition. And it’s my responsibility to enforce the rules — even against friends.”
I don't know what Issa was so worried about. This is a House Republican-led committee on
Benghazi!, and so what was discovered in the meeting (spoiler alert:
not a damn thing) already began leaking to the press
almost immediately after it ended.
Still, Issa was plenty steamed after Gowdy booted him. He is never, ever going to get over being stripped of the investigation. And it's glorious to watch.
