My heart soars like a hawk! Got back from a trip to the desert Monday and checked in with Playing For Change and saw they had released the video for their latest ; Ripple.
We are proud to share with you an ALL NEW Song Around The World in honor of the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary. Our friends at JamBase asked us to turn the Grateful Dead’s 1970 classic, “Ripple” into a PFC Song Around the world as part of their “Songs Of Their Own” series and after many miles on planes, trains and automobiles we can finally share it with all of you!!
“Ripple” is in support of the Playing For Change Foundation’s music schools and programs for children worldwide and we need your help. Watch the video and then let’s turn that inspiration we all share into something bigger. Join the #RippleEffect campaign so we can all leave the world better than we found it, one heart and one song at a time. As Jerry Garcia said, “Let there be songs to fill the air…”
Also too.
This is “a gift from the fans,” says Grateful Dead drummer, Bill Kreutzmann. And “the ‘ripple effect’ is that the next generation gets to learn to play music all over the world,” says Playing For Change co-founder, Mark Johnson.
Net proceeds from Ripple, and associated merchandise and sponsorship opportunities, will benefit the Playing For Change Foundation’s music schools and programs for children worldwide.
Special Thanks to our Supporters: The Jerry Garcia Foundation, The Ripple Foundation, SeaChange, Michael Klein and Judi Hunt.
I had thought it was going to be on their third CD/DVD
PFC3 Songs Around The World but sadly its not. Hope it will be on PFC4 when it comes out.
In the mean time I'll just have to settle for PFC3.
“PFC3 Songs Around The World” features 185 musicians from 31 countries, including performances from Keith Richards, Sara Bareilles, Taj Mahal, Toots Hibbert from Toots & The Maytals, Los Lobos, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Keb Mo, and Andres Calamaro, in addition to a song produced by Jackson Browne.
