I'm always down for watching a raucous poop fight. I get out my rain poncho, SCUBA mask and snorkel and cozy up to the screen with a spliff and some Root Beer, certain the gnawing need for my daily fix of schadenfreude will be sated.
I usually spend the morning before such an event lining up what YouTube channel or other outlet will be streaming the event live. Sometimes, I decide I'll put a diary up, post the links and invite the DK community to join me to watch the shit show and lather each other up with copious cupfuls of conservative tears.
Alas, today all my dreams came crashing down around me.
Time magazine online has this short and sweet headline:
How to Watch Tonight’s Republican Debate Online
Here are the livestream options
Don’t have a cable subscription? Unfortunately, there are limited online options to watch Thursday’s Republican primary presidential debate hosted by Fox News.
The main debate will be broadcast live from Cleveland at 9 p.m. ET on FOX News Channel, according to the network. It will also be streamed live at FOXNews.com and on the Fox News app, both of which require a cable subscription login.
Say it ain't so, Joe!
Further searches online proved this to be the case: If you want to watch the debate tonight, YOU MUST PAY!
So, I'll be waiting for a live blog here on DK to satisfy my needs, chipping at DK, as it were.
Fox News and Murdoch's minions will not see a penny from me. I'll not up their hit count by even one. I won't watch even one second of any ad they run.
I WILL NOT PAY FOX NEWS: PERIOD!
So, as I carefully fold my rain poncho and put it back in it's handy carrying case, I'll re-purpose my SCUBA gear and have a sip 'n puff and remain secure in the knowledge that I am not part of the Fox News problem.
I won't pay, and that's OK.
P.S. If you know of any non-pay options, let me know in the comments.
I'm all eyes...
#readyforthedebates!
1:01 PM PT: Here are a few links kind Kossacks just posted in the comments:

http://livetvcenter.com/
While I question (just the "sniff test:" I have no facts either way) the "legality" of watching either of these links, I'll leave it up to the viewer how to proceed.
Thanks to sceptical observer and amsterdam for the links!
2:05 PM PT: PorridgeGun offered this suggestion for watching:

I'm already looking forward to reading the wonkette live threads of the GOTP debate later on.
