In the wake of the murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile and the universal outcry that followed, the amateur psychologists and sociologists are at it again. “We need to talk to each other,” they opine. “We must come together and learn to understand each other.”
Let’s get something real straight: I really don't care if you understand me. I just ask one thing of you: Let my people live! That’s it.
And when I say my people, I mean black and brown people. I mean the sons, the daughters, the fathers, the cousins, the husbands, the wives, the lovers of black and brown people.
Just let them live. Is that too fucking much to ask? Just figure out a fucking way to not kill them every single fucking day in these United States of America.
In January 2016, police killed 113 people — at least one person was fatally gunned down by a cop every day that month. One particularly deadly day, January 27, saw ten people meet their fate, thanks to the police. On average, that is almost 4 people a day.

I don't need to be fucking understood. I don't care if you talk to me at the coffee machine or by the drinking fountain. It would be nice if you were to say hi, but believe me, i will live if you don’t.
Stop killing my mentally challenged brothers and sisters. What's the rush? That's not a bolt on a production line standing in front of you with a machete in his hand; that's my brother, and his meds stopped working, or he can no longer afford them. Could you please not fucking kill him?
At a time of concern over police shootings, a new report estimates that people with mental illness are 16 times more likely than others to be killed by police.
You kill us for laughing as you did Rekia Boyd.
You kill us for attending a birthday party as you did Jamar Clark
You kill us for wearing a hoodie as you did Trayvon Martin
You kill us for playing loud music as you did Jordan Davis
You kill us for asking for help as you did Jonathan Ferrell
You kill us for complying as you did Philando Castile
You kill us while sleeping as you did Aiyanna Jones
You kill us for playing as you did Tamir Rice
You kill us for holding a wallet as you did Amadou Diallo
You kill us for running as you did Walter Scott
You kill for us trying to eke out a living on the outskirts of society as you did Eric Garner
Just don't fucking shoot me if you are wearing a badge and a gun. Could you do that, please? And being tased is no fun either. The taser is not a fucking toy, it was meant to inflict "extreme pain and muscular disruption." Stop torturing my people! And if you are a member of this fine democracy, could you get your police department under control? Please?
Damn!

1. Our Lives Matter, Our Votes Count
The NAACP holds its Annual Convention July 16 — 20 and this year we are paying extra special attention. As you know, our law (MBOPRA) was submitted as a Resolution to the NAACP. That august body will now discuss and then vote on whether to adopt The Michael Brown Over-Police Rights Act at the Legislative Session of the Convention.
Stay tuned!
2. Model Cops
By all accounts, the Dallas Police Department under the leadership of Chief David Brown has been doing a lot of things we have been asking of law enforcement officers.
Mayor Mike Rawlings told reporters on Friday morning that Dallas this year has the fewest police officer-related shootings of “any large city in America.”
Dallas Police Chief David Brown has credited a focus on de-escalation and community policing for leading to a drop in excessive force complaints against officers.
Officers who work for Brown have to participate in deadly force training every two months. Last year, meanwhile, officers were issued body cameras to record interactions with civilians.
We mourn the loss of the five members of their department. We applaud them for listening to the cries of members of their community. We thank the Dallas Police Department for their leadership.
3. The number of people killed by police now stands at 586.
In the discussion surrounding the murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, the media, (even) the President, and enablers of police brutality keep talking as if those were the only two murders in recent time. In fact, since the killing of Alton Sterling, 23 others were killed. Among those who were sent to early graves by police were:
- Twenty-year-old Tyler Gebhard. A young man suffering from mental illness who was shot by an off-duty cop whose window he had broken.
- Thirty-year-old Abraham Smith. Smith was reportedly having a mental emergency when he was killed by cops for having a knife.
- Thirty-eight-year-old Alva Braziel thought he had second amendment rights to carry a gun. He was quickly disabused of that idea when cops shot him 10 times in Houston, Texas.
