In the wake of the news that former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson filed a bombshell sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Fox CEO Roger Ailes, former Republican operative Kellie Boyle decided to come forward with her own tale of being targeted by Roger Ailes. His grotesque sexual advances shook her so badly that she left her job working in politics all together.
After a brief introduction, Roger Ailes invited her to his New York City office. She accepted and Boyle claims they had a professional meeting in New York, where she mentioned she was going to D.C. This time he invited her to dinner, something she again thought was a professional meeting. More from Fortune Magazine:
Things changed 180 degrees when I accepted a ride from him. He had a car and a driver. We got in the car and he said, “You know if you want to play with the big boys, you have to lay with the big boys.”
It gets worse. Much worse:
I was trying to stall. I didn’t know if he was going to attack me. I needed to keep him talking to think. So I said, ‘I didn’t know that. How would it work?’ He talked the whole 15-minute ride. He said he would do things for me if I was his special friend. I said, “what if I am working for other men? Would I have to be their friend too?” He said I might have to give them a blowjob or two but they’d know you were my special friend. At this point, I felt sick.
I didn’t want to offend him. So I told him, “I can’t give you an answer now. I need to think about this. I can’t make a decision. I am married. This is a new concept to me.” He said, “Well, if you don’t do it now, I know how it works, you’re going to change your mind, you’re not going to do it.”
Kellie Boyle sat down with NPR to tell her story. Listen in her own words as she describes the vulgar encounter and how she was effectively blackballed after she rejected his advances, eventually leaving the political world all together.
Ga-ross.
