Trump is toast, and he's likely to take a number of GOP Senate hopefuls with him. Joe Heck, the Republican candidate locked in a tight race in Nevada, was booed and heckled by the crowd when he said Trump should step down, a perfect illustration of the box a number of Republican Senate candidates find themselves in today.
Meanwhile, eternal sleazebag, Democratic Indiana Senate candidate Evan Bayh, was busted in a well-documented AP story this morning that reveals Bayh trolling for job opportunities while still a senator, and continuing to vote on issues affecting the very firms he was speaking with about jobs.
Job Hunt Essential Part of Bayh's Last Year
It is a devastating article that reveals just how compromised Bayh is, including voting against an attempt to close the carried interest tax loophole that helped private equity firms and their partners reap windfall tax benefits. Bayh took a position with one of those firms immediately after leaving office.
We all want a Democratic majority in the Senate, and many were happy when Bayh jumped in late to this race. But Bayh’s sleaziness is likely to sink him. Wel’ll need to take the Senate without Bayh, and he can go back to being the tool he has always been, albeit, in the private sector.
