Hi. It’s us again. Happy Monday!
Trump didn’t like Saturday Night Live, again. So I think maybe NBC has to seriously think about running it 24/7 in order to keep him paralyzed, hate-tweeting about it.
Many other things also happened in the world—believe it or not—probably the most exciting of which was word that the Army Corps of Engineers would deny the necessary permits & easements for the planned construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline across Native American tribal lands!
It wasn’t my beat, but I know a thing worth tipping the hat to when I see it! So go get a hat! (And may I recommend a fedora? Remember, these days, if you look “dapper,” they’ll let you get away with anything!)
Listen LIVE right here at 9:00 AM ET!
Well, we went ahead and did it. We “went commercial.” Sort of. That is, we turned on ads in the YouTube version of our podcasts. So everyone here should make a point of going there, “watching” the podcasts, and clicking on all the ads, or whatever it is you have to do to make money magically appear in our account. The YouTube channel is actually a remarkably easy way of listening to the podcast on your mobile device, too. And we might even make a dollar!
Don’t want to play that game? Well, there’s always good, old fashioned donations! Please consider subscribing to provide ongoing, monthly support via Patreon.

Welcome back Buzz Aldrin, a guy that has seen some stuff. David Waldman invites us to join Buzz and him for new experiences and enlightenment. For instance, as the days grow shorter and Donald’s tie grows longer, what lessons might we learn? Greg Dworkin brings us another installment in “Know your Kellogg”, this time the horse breeder, not the masterbator preventer. Wholesome goodness, not like those alt-brands. The Donald Trump taunting tour began last night, setting a tone of unification, against everybody else, along with some more “old-fashioned” lessons. Kellyanne Conway also wants kindness and understanding, for herself. Trump voters now see they are in line to get theirs, thus stopping them from giving an F... But, wait a sec, this supporter finds out the world might not be on the end of her stick! Carrier employees also get a taste of Goldman Sachs Populism, as new facts float to the surface. The GOP runs Obamacare off the cliff, as an incentive. Infectious disease epidemics and antivaxxers meet in Texas. For the time being, Trump gets some money to play with. Thanks Obama! The Trump economy, pre-inauguration, heads in the right direction. Trump’s voters haven’t had a lot to do with that until now, and probably won’t in the future. Josie Duffy Rice invites you to remain open to being aghast, as long as you are still inspired to keep fighting, because the time to fight is when it is not yet you being slapped around.
(Thanks again to Scott Anderson for the show summary!)
