Since Donald Trump repeatedly claims he “loves” women, I decided to do some vetting to destroy this claim.
Considering Trump has been in the media for a couple of decades, I knew I had to do a little digging. The good news – it took very little digging at all.
In a 1990 interview with Vanity Fair:
"When a man leaves a woman, especially when it was perceived that he has left for a piece of ass — a good one! — there are 50 percent of the population who will love the woman who was left."
In a 1991 Esquire Article:
"You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass."
New York Magazine in 1992:
"[Women:] You have to treat 'em like shit."
In his 1997 book, The Art of the Comeback:
"There's nothing I love more than women, but they're really a lot different than portrayed. They are far worse than men, far more aggressive."

In 2000, when Trump was thinking about a presidential run:
"I think the only difference between me and the other candidates is that I'm more honest and my women are more beautiful.” www.bustle.com/...
In his 2004 book, How To Get Rich:
“It’s certainly not groundbreaking news that the early victories by the women on ‘The Apprentice’ were, to a very large extent, dependent on their sex appeal.
“All of the women on ‘The Apprentice’ flirted with me — consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”
From the book, Trump Nation: The Art of Being The Donald, 2005:
“My favorite part [of ‘Pulp Fiction’] is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: ‘Bitch be cool.’ I love those lines.”
In 2007:
Fox and Donald Trump are developing “Lady or a Tramp,” a reality-competition series in which girls in love with the party life will be sent to a charm school where they will receive a stern course on debutante manners. Trump will exec produce the show and possibly come on air to evaluate contestants’ progress, insiders said….
“We are all sick and tired of the glamorization of these out-of-control young women, so I have taken it upon myself to do something about it,” Trump said. See: variety.com/...
Creepy remarks about his daughter, Ivanka, in a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone.
“Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father . . . ”
But, as noted in that same article, this was not the first time he made similar statements about his daughter. In 2006 on The View:
“I’ve said if Ivanka wasn’t my daughter perhaps I’d be dating her.”
In 2013, he told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice All Stars, after she got on her knees and begged not to be fired:
“[i]t must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knees.” www.thedailybeast.com/...
And now he’s turning his sights on Hillary:
April 2016 Trump Tweet:
“If Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?"
This week’s rants:
"She's been the total enabler. She would go after these women and destroy their lives. She was an unbelievably nasty, mean enabler, and what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful."
Now, let’s take a look at Trump’s history with women:
He famously cheated on his first wife, Ivana, with Marla Maples (who he later married and divorced).
When Ivana filed for divorce, her testimony included an incident when he attacked her:
In Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, author Harry Hurt III recounts the testimony Ivana Trump gave during her and Donald Trump's divorce in the early 90s. According to Hurt's retelling of it, Ivana relayed a horribly violent incident when he was in a rage over a painful scalp reduction surgery.
Your doctor fucking ruined me!" Donald allegedly yelled, before tearing out Ivana's hair "by the handful, as if he is trying to make her feel the same kind of pain he is feeling." gawker.com/...
The same article mentions that Ivana also testified she felt raped by Trump during this incident. However, she later toned it down by saying it wasn’t rape in the “criminal” sense.
There’s much more – some in the links provided above, some in other sources – but I decided to stop here because, frankly, it’s making me sick.
In Brooklyn Bad Boy’s great diary today, I wrote:
I heard my soon-to-be-14 years-old girl talking on the phone with her bestie, who is Black, about Hillary winning and paving the way for Michelle Obama to be the first Black woman president.
Think about all the girls who could never have such a conversation if not for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. This is something our party should be proud of.
Unfortunately, as I write this, I must add, this election has also put my daughter in the position of hearing Trump call Hillary nasty, mean and disgraceful.
And since he prides himself on not being politically correct, there’s more than a good chance we’re all going to hear more garbage about Hillary and other women spewing from his mouth.
If there was any doubt that sexism was at play during this primary, Trump has certainly removed all doubt, now.
Trump is a proud and loud sexist. This is not acceptable.
