"Nevada Democrats hold big money lead over GOP foes"
Wed Aug 06, 2008 at 09:24:56 PM PDT
In a state that at one point may have been considered a Republican stronghold, Democrats are outperforming Republicans across the board. In January the Democratic caucuses turned out over 100,000 voters, compared to 44,000 voters in the Republican caucuses. And now the RGJ is reporting that Nevada Democrats are outraising Republicans like crazy.
Just check out some of these figures...

Remember Downticket Netroots Dems
Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 11:28:38 AM PDT
President Obama is up 24 points in California and he leads in many other places. While not being complacent, it's OK to consider donating to various downticket netroots Dems. Consider the "Orange to Blue" list on ActBlue for instance.
I am grateful for Obama, BUT let's make sure he has a HUGE majority in SENATE and HOUSE, so that the deadlock is fully broken and and we can change America's direction without Republican obstructionism.
That means THE SENATE!!! Send more NETROOTS DEMS to the Senate!!!
I mean -- do you REALLY want to hear "We don't have the votes..." again? Or do you want to see Reid kissing "Rape Gurney" Joe Lieberman's butt next year?
Do you really want Vichy-Vashie BUSH DOG 'Dems' to hold the whip hand?
If you are like me and that's the very last thing you want President Obama to face... don't forget to show the love to some DOWNTICKET NETROOTS DEMS -- especially the candidates for the SENATE.

MO-09 Judy Baker #3 on ActBlue!
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 04:26:19 PM PDT
As a sign of Democratic enthusiasm in the MO-09 district Judy Baker was the #1 U.S. House candidate in the nation and the #3 overall candidate (behind Senate candidates Noriega and Hagan) on ActBlue this past week. Two MO-09 candidates actually made the ActBlue top 10 as one of her three Democratic primary opponents (Gaw) also finished #9 in the ActBlue top ten.

Judy Baker introduced herself to Daily Kos on July 16th here:

The most bang for your donation buck
Mon Jul 21, 2008 at 10:32:25 AM PDT
Donating is tough, I know. First of all, money is in short supply. And you're never really that certain that what you are giving is making a difference. I mean, $25 to a candidate? What does that buy? A dozen bumper stickers? A second of TV time for an ad?
But there's a race that hasn't gotten the attention it deserves, and it just might be the place where your donation dollar goes a lot farther than it could elsewhere.
MO-09 fundraising deadline at midnight!
Wed Jul 16, 2008 at 05:03:10 PM PDT
MO-09's open seat is up for grabs and we have a great progressive running who has a real chance to take over the seat.
Missouri's Q2 deadline is today rather than June 30th because they have an early August primary. The DCCC has said they will throw $941,000 dollars into this race after the primary. Now is the chance to turn a deep red seat, deep blue!
See Judy's daily kos diary entry here: http://www.dailykos.com/...
Judy Baker is in a four way primary and is the frontrunner but she has competition. Judy got into the race to challenge Kenny Hulshof and is a fantastic candidate.
She alone is reaching out to Daily Kos, DFA and other progressive groups because she alone shares our progressive vision.
She has been endorsed by 21st Century Democrats, NEA, SEIU, Emily's List.
Help her meet her fundraising goal tonight!
Check out her Kos ActBlue page in her diary..or donate to my ActBlue page below!

TX-Sen: Rick Noriega Surpasses $1 Million Raised Online
Sat Jul 12, 2008 at 03:38:34 PM PDT
I take special pride in writing this post because the topic is about two organizations that I have worked for and together, have been incredibly successful. So indulge me. -kt
Democratic Senate nominee Rick Noriega passed the $1,000,000 mark yesterday in funds raised and processed online through the online fundraising powerhouse, ActBlue.com. That now makes him the #1 largest (non-presidential) online fundraiser with ActBlue since its inception. In fact, Noreiga alone is responsible for 1.75% of all funded raised through ActBlue, ever. And with 11,200 donors he has one of the most diverse and largest contributer pools of any candidate.
That's all to say, that even without many people's blessing, support, or full on assistance to take back Texas, Rick Noriega and his team are proving that a draft started by the Texas Netroots has resulted in a very real broad based effort to change the direction of our state.
That's very real and Sen. Cornyn better come to terms with it.

Newest Addition to Protecting Our Asses: Steve Kagen
Tue Jul 08, 2008 at 09:53:48 AM PDT
Two weeks ago, I posted a diary on DailyKos, MyDD, Open Left, and the Swing State Project announcing the creation of the ActBlue page Protecting Our Asses. The goals of this page are as follows:
- To reinforce vulnerable and potentially vulnerable incumbent members of Congress with cash.
- To reward good, progressive behavior from these incumbents.
- To diminish or replace the need for these incumbents to seek fundraising dollars from less progressive sources such as corporate PACs and "moderate"/conservative groups.
- To send the message that the Netroots will have your back if you have ours.
More over the flip.
ActBlue Midnight is on Eastern Time: One hour left to donate!
Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 08:03:15 PM PDT
Though the latest story by kos on the front page says you have five—now four—hours left to donate to Orange To Blue, this is not correct.
ActBlue servers run on Eastern Time. Therefore, every donation through ActBlue counts as if it was made in Eastern Time, regardless of where you happen to live.
Please, let your donation count for June 30. Make it before midnight Eastern. That's fewer than 60 minutes away! Thanks.
Help us reach our fundraising goal!
Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 12:24:04 PM PDT
Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $10,000 so that we can run an effective campaign in Idaho's Second District. We all know that it will be incredibly difficult to beat a five-term incumbent like my opponent. But we have to try; if our party tries everywhere and every time there is an opening then somewhere, we will win. My opponent is a conservative Republican who has voted with the Bush White House 89% of the time. We need your help to take his seat and show East Idaho that the Democratic party is a real option and the better option.
An Act Blue Plea

Hey all. Just wanted to give my pitch for you to donate on ActBlue before the end of quarter.
Barack Obama, DNC, Road to 60, Q2 and more - I Gave how about you?
Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 06:27:33 PM PDT
Cross posted at MyDD and EENR.
This is just a small diary with a few words to help push some good candidates and some good ActBlue pages.
I have not been able to give anything for quite a while. I gave a small amount to two worthy ActBlue pages today.
First off, I gave to MyDD's Road to 60 ActBlue page.
They have a great list of candidates that are worthy to support.

Support Democrats Under Age 35
Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 02:18:41 PM PDT
I have my problems with Stu Rothenberg and other professional pundits, so-called election "analysts" who can't seem to understand the statistics behind polling and always seem to wring their hands about needing balance - to the point of shoe-horning their election predictions to make the presidential race seem closer or more GOP-friendly than it really is.
However, sometimes, Stu comes through with a very useful article. On June 25th, he did just that with commentary about some very interesting House candidates - all under the age of 35:

What better way to laugh at the RNC Convention this fall than to have all of the MN Democratic challengers poised to turn the state solid blue. MN bloggers are doing their part to make this a reality with http://www.actblue.com/....
Does Karl Rove Have a Mole in ActBlue?
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 11:04:17 AM PDT
Like millions, I’m sure, I’m really angry over the Democrats cave on FISA and telecom immunity. The other day I was so angry about the impending debacle that I did a rash thing, when Barack Obama’s robot e-mailed me to ask for another contribution, I wrote back that, because the candidate wasn’t leading on this issue, I was giving money instead to ActBlue’s fund for punishing the architects of the "compromise." And then I did exactly that. I still desperately want Barack to win, and plan to help, but I think it’s healthy to express support and displeasure as concretely as possible.
Yesterday I saw what I (among thousands of others) had wrought when Hullabaloo previewed an ad slated for a full page of Thursdays’ Washington Post. There it is intended to bother the great compromiser and Maryland Congressman Steny Hoyer. I quickly wrote to Act Blue to ask, "Can I get my money back?"

A Practical Way To Show Disapproval...
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 09:33:41 AM PDT
Let's be impersonal.
Are you disapproving of, say, Dem candidate 'O'? Or Senator 'R', or "Representatives" (heh) Madam 'P', Mr. 'H' or 'E'???
Don't send them more money, AND don't send more money to alphabet (DSCC, DCCC, DNC) organizations or PACs they control.
Direct your donations YOURSELF, vote with your dollars.
USE ACTBLUE to send your money to other candidates who will respect our principles. Support netroots candidates that are both 'More Democrats AND Better Democrats'.
You see "2nd tier" candidates appeal for attention/support here all the time - so give them yours!
Candidate 'O' will raise money without you. We damn sure know that the other Corporate Bush Dogs raise money without you... they prove it every time they sell you out with their votes.
Support progressive candidates challenging Rethugs and their Corporate Dem ENABLERs. You can feel good about advancing progressives WITHIN the Democratic Party... Provide an even more progressive new Congress to help oust these Zell-outz and Liebermanz. Remove their power... and them.
In 2009, with a 'Dem' House, Senate, and President what excuse can they use for selling us out? We can get REAL SERIOUS about 'Better Democrats' in 2010!

I’m a little slow tonight because it is hard to type with a big old knife sticking out of your back. If you had any hope that the 110th Congress would do the right thing, you know how I’m feeling tonight. I try to not inject highly political diaries into Top Comments, but like many folks today, I’m too angry to think about much else.
Occasionally when someone like Chris Dodd or Dennis Kucinich would stand up and do something like filibuster a bad bill or file articles of impeachment, I would allow myself a little hope that maybe the Democrats weren’t as bad as the Republicans. And they aren’t all as bad – but quite a few of them are.
And as my dear old Dad always said, "Don’t get mad, get even."
