This could well be the only article in the history of Daily Kos that could fit right in on any right-wing website just as well as here! Whether the sentence in the cartoon above is left-leaning or right-leaning hinges entirely on which of the two...

This is my rant about the comments I see on KOS. Let me say I’m not against comments at all, I spend (I’m sure, as do many) more time in reading and making comments than I do on most of the diaries themselves. While these comments can provide Insights,...

We’ve all made grammatical and spelling errors and had someone “help” us by pointing it out. We’ve also had people argue hour perspective was wrong. How they do it and are response tells a lot about us and them. Yesterday...

Oh dear. I just read the entry by Verbalpaintball entitled “The Pathetic, Laughable Grammar of the Trump Supporter.” My first reaction, which continues to be my sentiment, is that this is one of the worst examples of class privilege raising its ugly...

We need something to honor those who stood on their soapbox, pulpit, arena stage, you tube channel or social media account, and argued for their right to go maskless, and hold super spreader events, then paid with their lives. It is only to be...

When I was in graduate school many happy years ago, I took a linguistics course in which the instructor warned us never to get into an argument with anyone about grammar. We would only lose. So of course I commenced a career as an English teacher and...

The English language is a useful communication tool and an infinite source of beauty and self-expression. But it is often battered and abused. We all recognize that “their,” “there,” and “they’re” are frequently confused and abused. Similarly the words...
