I understand that Hillary Clinton has to keep her message positive in the closing hours, but if they’re going to undo even part of the damage of the last nine days some of the surrogates have to come out swinging — against Comey, against the media, and against Trump and all Republicans who seized upon the first Comey letter as anything about anything.
Right now it feels kind of passive, with Democrats subdued, maybe letting the story set in? There’s no time for that. To get some of the indecisive morons back who were favoring her before the nothing letter is going to take some shaming of all of the above. The Trump campaign is staying on the attack, mentioning the Foundation and how it’s all “rigged.”
There’s the rest of today and there’s tomorrow and that’s it.
Where is the push back against Carl Bernstein who insisted that Comey would not have written such a letter unless there was a “bombshell?”
Where is the push back against the numerous headlines which erroneously reported the investigation “reopened?”
Are the down ticket Democratic Party candidates going to use this against the GOP Senate candidates who seized on this?
I’m just not understanding the passivity. Maybe there’s a reason for it, but I’m frustrated.
