Well, El Residente has gone and done it, and no one’s surprised even though we’re disgusted. Of course he steered the G-7 summit to one of his Florida properties. He said that he wanted to do it, and his staff of boot-licking ass-kissers promptly ginned up all the …. er, “documentation” …. justifying the decision.
The administration examined 10 sites before choosing this one, according to Mulvaney, who then quoted an anonymous site selection official who he said told him, “It’s almost like they built this facility to host this type of event.” Mulvaney did not say what other sites were vetted — just that they were all worse.

“If you want to see our paper on how we did this, the answer is absolutely not,” he said.
Now, I can hear some of you wags out there saying, “Ha ha ha ha ha! There is no ‘paper’! Of course we can’t see it — it doesn’t exist!”
But you are wrong. The people in the White House, even the boot-licking ass-kissers, are professionals, y’all! There’s no way they didn’t cover their butts, and I think I found the list they used to select the competing sites.
Oyster.com: Creepy Abandoned Hotels Across the U.S.
So sad. All these great American resorts, no longer in business or fit for guests, be it from an infestation by squatters and vandals, a cult takeover, or the simple but overwhelming smell of rotting marine life. Blame it on Bernie Sanders — he only stays at the Motel 6!
That being said, this article gathers opinions from event planners evaluating the choice on its merits. The Doral property is big enough, they said, has the proper amenities, is close to an international airport, and is accustomed to hosting these kinds of visitors.
However — digital security is a huge question.
… Washburn flagged internet security as a major concern for foreign delegates who may not feel secure in a property owned by the family of the U.S. president, especially considering the tumultuous political relationship Trump has had even with long-time U.S. allies.
“I don’t think foreign governments want to stay in a hotel that’s owned by the president of the United States,” Washburn said. “They’re going to have to make a secure room, and I don’t think they can necessarily do that on a property that’s owned by an agent of the government.”
And while Trumplethinskin loves to make everything about himself, he’s taking a particularly big risk by making this summit all about him and his brand. You know that every cost and every service will be scrutinized if this happens, especially since this resort (like many other T-rump properties) has taken a financial hit since he was elected.
Coretta Washburn, co-founder of event planning agency R2CW, said that hosting the event at his own resort would be a “logistical nightmare,” whether or not the event does much to help the resort’s image or bottom line. Food, drink, and other amenities at high-end hotels are extremely expensive, and justifying those costs in a political sense will be a challenge.
“When you work with these kinds of events, there are usually restrictions. You have to make sure you have back-up for every little cost, because you’re going to be called on for political reasons to justify it,” she said. “As a meeting planner, if you have a five star hotel, that kind of pricing is normal, but for other people it seems over-the-top.”
I hope every foreign delegation stays somewhere else in the Miami area. And brown-bags their lunches during the conference, and hosts the dinners at locally owned restaurants.
Even better, I hope Trump is impeached and booted from office before the end of the year.
