The July Kaiser Health Tracking Poll is out and shows that Obamacare is more popular than ever. So. Fucking. What? I'm supposed to take this data seriously and give a shit? Many prior polls on this topic have shown time and time again that the very same humans who check the "Unfavorable" box on Obamacare then proceed to immediately go on to questions #2-#10 the enthusiastically check the "Favorable" box for every single individual part of Obamacare: Can't be turned down for pre-existing condition. Love it! Can stay on parents' plan until 26. Hell yes! No lifetime spending caps. Whoop, whoop! Etc., etc.
So, I'm sorry that you're so fucking gullible that you believe what you hear from Faux News and Repugs. I'm sorry that you're unwilling to, uninterested in, or incapable of educating yourself on one of the most important pieces of legislation of our generation. But as a result, what I'm not sorry for is in turn completely not giving a shit of what your opinion is on the subject.
And while I'm at it, since when does public opinion matter anyway? It's certainly not as if majority opinion drives policy. If it did, we'd already have comprehensive immigration policy. If it did, we'd already have national marriage equality. If it did, we'd already have national legal marijuana. If it did, we'd already have equal pay. If it did, the most politically motivated SCOTUS in history wouldn't have sided with Hobby Lobby.
So, pardon my callousness, but I just don't give a shit what the general public has to say about this topic. Or maybe any topic. Depends on how cranky I am. And right now, I'm quite cranky.
OK, end of rant.
