Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is already worried about 2012.

Yesterday - just six weeks after Election Day - Bachmann emailed her supporters asking for campaign contributions, saying that she might have to face us again two years from now, and that we're already "amassing an even larger war chest" than we did in 2010.

She's right to worry: in 2010 she spent more than $11 million - including over $2.5 million in the last two weeks of the election alone - and still won with one of the narrowest margins of victory of any Republican incumbent.

In 2012, she will be facing a much different political landscape, and will have to explain to voters what exactly she and the Republican-controlled Congress did to improve the economy, help people find a job or stay in their homes, and care for our seniors, veterans and children.

I've always appreciated how close Thanksgiving is to Election Day, because regardless of the outcome, we turn to what really matters: celebrating our heritage, traditions and faith as well as reconnecting and having fun with family and friends.

So, just weeks after the election, my thoughts have turned to the many blessings in my life - including my best friend and love of my life Doug, our wonderful sons Colin and Nathan, the health of our extended family, living in a country where we have amazing freedoms and opportunities including the ability to strive to make it stronger, and friends and partners and allies like you.

I truly have much to be thankful for.

I want to take a moment to thank you for being a part of this amazing campaign.

Despite the outcome here and across the country, we have a lot to be proud of. We waged an unprecedented effort, setting fundraising records and creating a grassroots army in the 6th District that will continue to work in and for our communities. We knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors and made hundreds of thousands of phone calls. We showed the 6th District what real people power is.

Unfortunately, what we thought would be a strong headwind turned out to be a tidal wave, and it was too much to overcome this time.

In addition to the prevailing national mood, we were up against what can only be described as an onslaught, with Congresswoman Bachmann spending nearly $10 million - $187,000 per day in October - to defeat us. She spent more than anyone has in a race for Congress in history, a great majority of it from outside our state, let alone outside our district. That meant that rather than serving as a referendum on our Member of Congress, this election became a referendum on the state of our economy, our country and on Washington itself.

This picture shows momentum - who has it, and who doesn't.

On the one side, you'll see the 300 people that showed up to cheer Tarryl Clark on as she arrived at yesterday's only debate in the 6th District. On the other, the 30 that showed up to greet Michele Bachmann as she rushed in - late to her only public debate.

Yesterday's raucous rally with hundreds of cheering supporters stood in stark contrast to Bachmann's entrance. One reporter wrote, "Clark entered the civic center with a cheering crowd of supporters trailing down the corridor behind her. Bachmann, hunched under a red umbrella against the nearly horizontal rain, arrived just minutes before the start of the forum with the minimum of fanfare."

Less than an hour ago, ECM Newspapers, which publish papers in nearly all of the population centers in the Sixth District, endorsed Tarryl Clark for Congress! This is the second major editorial board endorsement for Tarryl this week, and it adds to our growing momentum in the critical homestretch of this campaign.

In endorsing Tarryl, the ECM Editorial Board cited Michele Bachmann’s clear lack of attention to the people she represents, saying, “Rep. Bachmann’s repeated absence from the district is one reason that ECM Publishers chooses to endorse Sen. Clark for election on Tuesday, Nov. 2.” That echoes the St. Cloud Times, who said in endorsing Tarryl that Michele Bachmann “has proved with unabashed consistency that serving 6th District constituents is essentially her last priority.”

Two major editorial boards and tens of thousands of 6th District voters agree: Bachmann’s do-anything-for-a-headline agenda only serves Michele Bachmann, not her district.

I wanted to take a moment and share this with you! The St. Cloud Times, the largest daily newspaper in Minnesota's 6th District, endorsed Tarryl Clark for Congress this weekend. This conservative-leaning paper is widely read in the district, and their endorsement means a great deal. They know what we all know know - Michele Bachmann is serving the special interests, not her constituents. And as the newspaper that knows Tarryl the best, they know that Tarryl will be on OUR side in Congress.

Michele Bachmann may be raising big money but we've got something more important: big mo.

Momentum.

As you make decisions about which candidates to support with your time and money over the next 19 days, I want you to consider the following:

* Our unprecedented grassroots army of volunteers has called or knocked on the doors of over 130,000 voters in the 6th District since April alone. That's amazing considering that just over 300,000 people total are expected to turn out to vote in this election.

* Those voters who first told us they were undecided in the race and have since made up their mind are breaking towards Tarryl by a whopping 2-to-1 margin.

* Big crowds are turning out to see Tarryl everywhere as she travels the district, including over 100 people for last Tuesday's debate in Michele Bachmann's hometown of Stillwater (even though Bachmann herself couldn't find time to attend the debate.)

The grassroots enthusiasm for Tarryl is spreading like wildfire.

Tonight there will be a debate in Michele Bachmann’s hometown of Stillwater. Unfortunately for her constituents, it doesn’t look like she was able to find time to attend, given her busy schedule campaigning for other candidates around the country.

It's pretty unbelievable. The debate is literally in her own backyard – just 15 minutes from her house — yet she still refuses to attend. We know the reason, of course: she’s done nothing for the people in her district, but plenty for the powerful special interests. And that’s why she’s so afraid to face voters in this election.

That left us wondering once again what a debate between Michele Bachmann and Tarryl Clark would sound like.

We’ve already told you that for weeks and weeks now, Michele Bachmann has been running negative and misleading attack ads against Tarryl Clark.

With no positive accomplishments for her district and no real record of success in Congress, material for pro-Bachmann ads must be hard to come by.

Given that, we’ve decided to lend a helping hand to Michele Bachmann by creating a new ad for her. It’s called “More Than Her Share,” and it highlights some of her ‘accomplishments’ in Congress. Check it out now:

I’m Zach Rodvold, Campaign Manager for Tarryl Clark’s campaign for Congress against Michele Bachmann in MN-06.

It is now less than one month until Election Day and Michele Bachmann is still nowhere to be found – at least not in the 6th District. She recently turned up in Nevada to campaign for Sharon Angle. We saw her briefly on TV on the FOX Business Network. But we can’t seem to find her here at home.

Confused? So is Minnesota Public Radio, who asked Michele Bachmann’s spokesperson, Sergio Gor, if Bachmann would debate Tarryl prior to the election. His answer left the reporter baffled, saying they had agreed to venues but not debates, and then he wouldn’t commit to any debates at all!

Well, today our campaign announced that we have agreed to participate in at least six debates across the 6th Congressional District – though one, scheduled for Octber 7th, has already been called off because of Congresswoman Bachmann's refusal to commit.

Michele Bachmann finds time to travel the country, attend rallies and raise big money for her campaign, but she can't seem to find a few hours for her constituents.
