Some random thoughts:
1. Republican President Trump isn't going anywhere. Republicans may not love him but they support him and the Congressional Republicans vote with him. So, from now on I don't say “Trump.” I say "Republican Trump." Tie him to his party. This is a shit-show, tie all Republicans to it.
2. I don't know the rules of the DNC, but there should be a new Chairman in place by now. We are wasting time and opportunity. Folks are begging for a fight on all fronts, how about getting a Chairman in there to do just that.
3. Why hasn't there been a push at the national level for immigrants to become citizens? Forgetting for a moment that it is the right thing to do, it would increase our voting base.
4. We seem to be too focused on what Republican cheddar-head is going to do to us. Why don't we start thinking about what we are going to do to him and his Party?
5. The DNC should organize a Democratic sponsored National Voter Registration week. Voter suppression is going on, so fight back.
6. How about Democratic sponsored taco Tuesday? Bring an apple to your teacher Monday? Call your legislator Wednesday? I'm sure there are other ideas. The point is to start representing in simple ways what we stand for. We focus so much on money for TV commercials and sometimes miss the point. There is a lot we can do inexpensively. Moreover, we create a community on a National scale.
7. Have Democratic legislators coordinate one point a day. Take the messaging away from the media. How about a solar power jobs meme on Friday, expanding Medicare on Saturday, or the Repubs health insurance plan is crap because….on Sunday. Stop letting events dictate us and instead start dictating events.
8. For Godsake, stop harping on all of Republican Trump’s foibles. There isn't enough time to outline them all. Wherever one is — with friends, on Facebook, or TV — leave at he is a fool and dangerous and then move onto your agenda.
9. Make a point of telling three people every day that Republican President Trump is a fool and don't be afraid to answer back on social media. You may lose some friends, but do you really want friends who think detaining five year olds is okay.
10. When another ISIS inspired person kills someone in th U.S. Expect a huge backlash. Think the Reichstag fire. The hype and the grab for control will be shocking and disgusting.
Thanks for listening.
