and I don't hate the people who support her. I don't hate Slink, or Eve, or any their supporters. I don't agree with their message, and I certainly don't agree with their methods(or their choice of partners), but it's not personal. I don't hate Cerk, and I have an enduring amount of respect for Glenn Greenwald.

I am not a villager, nor a DLC supporter. I think Rahm, Lieberman, Bachus, Nelson, et el can suck it, and I prefer the house bill over the senate bill{except for the anti-choice language: WTF is that all about?}. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see single payer for everyone.

I'm as liberal as anyone here, and @ least as progressive as anyone you know.

But, I am deeply disappointed by Jane's efforts. While I certainly believe that we, as progressives, should be putting pressure on congress to adopt a more reasonable bill, I don't believe that we should burn the house down in order to do it.

I think this campaign is deeply misguided. While I would love to have a true public option{or better yet, Dennis Kucinich as president and single payer all around}, we have to accept that we live in a world that demands pragmatism. Your campaign to undermine the president at this time is Ill advised, and must have madmen like beck & limbaugh giggling like school girls.

I can't stand garbage reporting. I can't stand it from the right, and I can't stand it from the left. But I mostly just can't stand it. I hate lies. I hate exaggeration. I hate hyperbole, and I hate, hate, hate anonymous sources.

I hate having to argue against a guy who won't reveal the basis of his information. I hate fighting mythology. I fucking hate baseless accusations. I mean, how do you argue with a ghost? And that's what anonymous sources are: ghosts that reporters claim are whispering to them. If you don't have any evidence, if you don't have any objective criteria, then it's fucking rumor, and journalism 101 is that you don't write an article based on rumors.

So imagine my level of hate when I read this garbage from the AP.

I'm arguing with my evil wingnut counterpart for the soul of our independent minded mutual friends. I've countered(to my own satisfaction) his other arguments. But he's sorta got a point on this one(i'm sure it was articulated by the heritage foundation o somesuch, but since I'm not aware of any similiar multimillion dollar on the left, I need help).

So, I'm sure anyone who can help knows the argument being made.

So, any thoughts?

I keep hearing that Israel's attack on the people in Palestine isn't really so bad. That it's only a 'few hundred' dead civilians: and they are all probably 'militants' or 'combatants' and, anyway, that school was just begging to be bombed. because the Palestinians just want dead children.

How do you talk to people like that? I decided to seek solice in Poetry, hoping it would distract me. But the dead seemed to follow me, and this is the poem I found.

There's been a considerable effort here, designed to tell us how we're allowed to react to Reid's failed leadership in the Senate, and how we're allowed to react to Lieberman's full, bare assed mooning of the democractic party.

The reasoning goes something like this: you're allowed to be mad about it, but you're not allowed to be that mad about it. You're not allowed to question the wisdom of the party elders in public, and you're certainly not allowed to protest, yell, scream, or say angry things about it. Because, Gosh, that might feed into Repug sterotypes about us.

I call bullshit.

The following is a transcript of Q/A of The Iranian President's speech @ Columbia. I'm skipping over the intro, because I'm bored to shit by that sort of thing. However, I found the Q/A educational & interesting. Well, the whole thing about there not being any gays was actually kinda really funny: but still educational and interesting.

I think I'm supposed offer a disclaimer here, stating how I'm really a good liberal, and I really hate the guy, and this is just about my love of free speech, etc.

But I don't hate the guy(just as I don't hate Bush: I just wish he was in a different line of work), I am a good liberal, and yeah: part of this is directed to the heart of free speech. That is, the part that says people who disagree really listening to each other is a Good Thing(tm).

If you're inclined to attack me personally for posting this: save it. I'm not wired that way, and I really, really,a just don't care.
