What’s killing us today?

Institutionalized corruption, or Politics As Usual.

Simon Johnson, the co-author of 13 Bankers (the book about the day President Obama invited the nation's top bankers to the White House during the financial crises, to let them know they could keep their jobs) recently visited and spoke. He said the country is being denied a national discussion.

Simon Johnson lectured his latest book 13 Bankers, about the days of the financial crises and the day President Obama spoke with them about not losing their jobs, and getting everything pretty much the same way it was, even after bailed-out.

Before the lecture I looked at a copy, went to the end for the "solutions" part, and it said the solution was in the people's hands. During the lecture, he said the American people were never allowed a national conversation.

I got to the mic during the Q&A, and when done mentioning the convention clause, he replied "careful for what you wish for." The discussion needed to shift, he said. I left off saying that's exactly what a convention is--a shifting of discussion--it's that national discussion we're being denied.

Color Field painting is a style of abstract painting that emerged in New York City during the 1940s/1950s. Inspired by European modernism and closely related to Abstract Expressionism, many of its proponents were among the pioneering Abstract Expressionists. Color Field art is characterized primarily by fields of flat, solid color. The movement places less emphasis on gesture, brushstrokes and action, in favour of an overall consistency of color and/or color combination. During the late 1950s and 1960s Color Field painters emerged using formats of stripes, targets, simple geometric patterns and references to landscape imagery and to nature.

I myself have never seen a UFO, although I've talked with people who say they have, and have read plenty of things about them over the years. January 28th, multiple videos were taken of a UFO over the Temple Mount in Israel. I don't know what it is, if it's a hoax or not, but I've been thinking about it. If anyone wandering past today sees this diary, I'd like to know what others think.

News From The Front

The solution to our national crisis is dawning on more and more. The following is late news from the front in the quest for the Article V Convention.

On a side note, I finished edits to a book I've been working on for some time--a translation of Hamlet and Macbeth. I've been poring over the manuscript for the past two months and after going over the latest print-out today I'm satisfied it's the best I can do. Today I'm working on more versions of the art work for the cover, meeting with the designer tomorrow, and that's it--off to the printers, so look for word sometime soon on its printing.
