It’s only Tuesday, and it’s already crazy out there!
Besides the craziness of Trump himself, the Judiciary Committee wants documents from everyone, Jeff Merkley is announcing something “big,” everyone’s talking about a seismic shift in influence on “the left,” and we still have some ‘splainin’ to do about motions to recommit.
Oh, and I have fifteen billion other things that just might make a surprise appearance in this morning’s stream o’ consciousness.
You know. The usual.
Listen right here at 9:00 AM ET!
PODCAST LISTENERS: There’s a new podcast platform in town, and the big news is: this one pays! RadioPublic pays podcast producers on a CPM basis, for listens on their native app (available for iPhones & Androids), financed by pre- and post-roll ads they insert. Not a bad way to support the show, with somebody else’s money!
So if you’re a podcast listener, please consider downloading the RadioPublic app on your Android or iOS phone. Yes, you can still download directly from their site, or listen to the player embedded here at Daily Kos. But it’s listens in their app that count toward payment.
Nothing changes on our end. It’s still Greg Dworkin, Joan McCarter, and even Armando. Plus also, me. And you! As always, we still want your voice on the air with us. Sit down with your smart phone or other electronic recording device and send us your stories and commentary to share with the audience. There’s no easier way to try your hand at podcasting, without all the hassle!
Of course there’s no substitute for having your support via Patreon, or one-time contributions via Square Cash. (And hey, if you want a cool trick for donating sorta-kinda cost free, get their cash.me app and use this share code to get $5 in your account (plus $5 in mine) when you send your first $5 (to anyone)!
For now, how about one on the house? Here’s what we did last time out, on our previous LIVE show:
There must be some March 4th joke to be made to start this KITM week off, but no one has the time for that, there’s too much going on. David Waldman proceeds apace: They may not mean it, but Greg Dworkin is glad they’re saying it: Rand Paul makes a temporarily principled stand against Trump’s extra-Constitutional powers, as well as enough other Senate Gops to earn a Trump veto… almost as if they’ll return to override it. Jerry Nadler sincerely believes Trump obstructed justice. Adam Schiff believes Trump colluded with Russia. Soon, The House Judiciary Committee is going to find out what a few dozen individuals from the White House to the Department of Justice believe. Heck, Rudy Giuliani might even take down Trump. Trump remains around the same place he always has in the polls, which was never good, and his unpopularity has become disconnected from the economy. His base, however will never leave him. So what? Well, although some on the right play nice, that isn’t how the Trump/Fox machine operates, as described in this week’s big, big article. Donald Trump knows that emoluments are fungible, so forgiving Donald’s debt can alter the course of the US as well as any other bribe. After some consideration, Trump decides the failure of the North Korea nuclear summit was not his fault. Trump will issue an executive order to help a guy pwn a lib. Political shame seemed an adequate enforcement mechanism back in the day, but not anymore. David discusses the legislative procedures and history behind motions to recommit.
