Let's all try to get the Gannon story out there. Remember how the right hammered and hammered away at Rather? They kept at it until it broke. This story can break too. Why not write a letter to your local paper? I've summarized "Gannongate" in less than 200 words. Please feel free to use my letter (below the fold) in any way you feel appropriate:
It has now become clear that the White House has been giving press passes to an apparent prostitute, who operated under a false name, was not a real journalist, and was allowed access to the President and to private government memos. James Guckert received daily press passes for the false name Jeff Gannon, working for a bogus organization called "Talon News," which he has since quit. Mr Gannon/Guckert has admitted that he lied about his identity, claiming he did it "because the name was easier to remember." He has also admitted to owning website names including HotMilitaryStud.com, which he claims were "for another client." Recently, naked pictures of Gannon have been discovered at other sites like Meetlocalmen.com and Malecorps.com. This information has been accessible on the internet, and it has not been difficult to discover Gannon/Guckert's real name. So why did the White House, which campaigned on a anti-gay-marriage agenda, allow this man access to the President and to secret memos? And why has nothing been done now that the facts are known? The public deserves some answers. It would seem this is one issue that both Republicans and Democrats can agree upon. Call your Congressman and senators.
