It has become routine for the FBI to leak or release information and lies for political purposes.

MSNBC reported that the cousin of then White House Chief of Staff Card was caught in a sting aiding resistance groups in Iraq in postwar Iraq.
The indictment said Lindauer met twice in Baltimore, in June and July, with an undercover FBI agent who posed as a Libyan intelligence representative who was seeking to support resistance groups in postwar Iraq. It said she discussed the need for plans and foreign resources to support those groups.
According to the indictment, she continued to correspond with the undercover agent until last month and followed the agent's instructions to leave packages on two occasions in August in "dead drop" operations.
Those charges have not been dropped and Susan Lindauer is a detainee now. She has been under psychiatric observation for many months. She apparently became paranoid at the same time she was being watched by the FBI and NSA for her anti-war activity. Susan did assist in getting the UN inspectors back into Iraq before the war. It is funny/sad that MSNBC thought the Iraq war was over in March 2004. 'Postwar Iraq'

I think we really need to take announcements from the FBI with a grain of salt.
I see there is a reasonable doubt about the guilt of Rep. Jefferson and find the calls for him to resign are by people who have more trust in the leaks of FBI than I do.
I choose to wait until Rep. Jefferson has his day in court, if the FBI ever indicts that is... A court of law has rules about having legal good evidence examined by an impartial judge and jury.
