As we have discussed in my diary on Monday, and RenaRF's diary on Saturday, there will be a Bloggers March within the Mass Mobilization taking place this Saturday, Jan. 27th in Washington DC to protest the War in Iraq and urge Congress to bring the troops home.
Are you going to DC? Will you join us and march in solidarity?
The plan, as it currently stands, has us meeting at the Starbucks on the corner of 7th St. NW and Indiana Ave. at 10:00 AM. Follow that link and register so we have a good idea of how many are attending (if you haven't already).
^^^ That's where we're meeting. Click on the map for a larger/printable version.
From there we will travel en masse to the National Mall to participate in what I believe will be the turning point in our work towards ending this illegal and immoral war against Iraq -- and now Iran?
We're calling on Kossacks young and old, tall and small, to join us and show those in attendance that bloggers do far more than just sit in their underwear and type.* Won't you join us for this momentous and sure-to-be-interesting event?
Oh, and for early risers, a few of us plan to meet around 8 AM at the Eastern Market on 7th St. SE & Independence (on the other side of the Mall, near a Metro station which will take us a block from the Bloggers March Meetup) for early morning blogging and breakfast. (UPDATE 2: Map above has been revised to reflect this location) Please, join us! (and look for a comment below from mecki for more info)
UPDATE 1 Thom K in LA has posted some fun Protest Posters for folks to download
UPDATE 3: h/t to lawyerDan, who reminds us that Lobby Day is also critical if we're to see any change in the situation. Wiith that in mind, is there anyone who wants to join me for dinner after the March to discuss Lobbying plans and tactics? I'm thinking of heading back over to the Eastern Market afterward, since mecki speaks sohighly of it...
*even though that's what many of us are doing right now... ;-)
