We have so many insightful and powerful diaries written here at Daily Kos. Our diaries inform, inflame, impassion, and even entertain. We Kossacks have strong voices and an even stronger will to be the change we wish to see in this country.
One of the richest, and perhaps most under-appreciated, areas of thought come in the form of comments attached to these diaries.
Here at Top Comments we strive to recognize and promote the talent of this community by highlighting outstanding comments found throughout the day by the diarist, and through nominations at made at topcomments at gmail dot com by your fellow Kossacks.
These nominations are subjective, and certainly not complete (as no one can read the complete site on a daily basis!). But hopefully they will serve to shine a light where deserved, and to give the reader a good starting point in finding conversation on the site.

I. Fun With Sig Lines
Here are parts one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight.
What I've done is collect little snippets of comments, diaries, or posts from elsewhere in the blogosphere that I felt would make funny signature lines. If you come across a good one, and you are so inclined, shoot me an email, and I'll try and include it in the next installment.
All of these have cracked me up for one reason or another:
First, one about Luntz, because, well, why not?:
DL and you should get a room where you can bow to an Obama picture. The funny thing is Obama would be repelled by your hero worship.
And the rest are from what can only be described as an epic, meltdown, racist, troll diary [spelling errors in original]:
I don't find Islam to be a threat, just a total nusiance
I see what looks to be a makeshift arab marketplace
A giant maze that you're supposed to go into to learn about Islam
Coming from a stereo, starting from 9 am till 5 pm they have blasting that Islamic singing that sounds like a guy singing in a shower.
One guy handed me a stupid pamphlet with a bunch of goofball stuff like an embryo compared to a piece of chewed bubblegum somehow proving that Allah is the lord.
One broad in a burka gave me a little flyer about Palestine.
Am I wrong to think I shouldn't have to be harassed by all of this flimshaw and foofaraw, no matter what they're peddling
politico is full of MSM people . . . they knwo what thye are doing, I trust them.
I don't care if you believe in God, Allah, or sticking hotdogs up your anus to attain enlightenment....but keep it out of my face, alright?
What am I, Gramps?
If people were practicing homosexuality in your lounge you'd be concerned too, I bet
I was kidding, and I meant sexually . . . Geez
A Hijab is a little headcloth. I actually find them quite beautiful sometimes, but not when they're on someone trying to get money from me
Probably come and work me over with a lead pipe or something ridiculous
I've learned never to trust hostile individuals . . . Over the internet
Just because I don't like proselytizing I'm racist? What are you, a clown?
Its not music, its random ululating
HR'd primarily for calling Dave Barry terrible.
The comment section is a perfect example of a DailyKos Silent Majority. The loud, hostile flamers post int he comments, while the rational people wait and then later tell me they agree.
About how a chewed up embryo proces Allah?
I'm an Atheist . . . I believe in nothing
Captain Pants, you're a hero
I don't even have a problem with anybody who is Muslim . . . I just want them to stop accosting me and playing loud music
Get off your high horse, budday
I have have certainly said things that betray a certain low amount of patience and a tactless manner, but not ignorance
The library sucks . . . It's got those plastic chairs that aren't good for lounging
I've taken anthro classes and I'm not for ethnocentrism
II. Tonight's Top Comments
Via SoCalJayhawk:
Of all the great, heart-warming comments in a great, heartwarming diary, this one, by labradog, most expresses for me the moment when Pete Seeger was on stage singing 'This Land Is Your Land.'
Via ScottyUrb:
wewhodream declares: "I want to share the dream."
Via BeninSC:
I liked this great comment from claudew about the respect factor in marriage, how important it is to true equality, that much more is involved than just rights. In Julia Rain's diary about relating with a bigoted friend.
Via sardonyx:
In LithiumCola's front-page story about Peter Beinart, Ponder Stibbons is overly touched by Beinart's concern.
In Hope Reborn's diary FORMER PRESIDENT BUSH (and lovely words they are at most any volume), Arken is a bit premature, but mndan carries the prize.
I like both The Raven's comment We took a wrong turn through history and LithiumCola's reply to it.
Dallasdoc shares his rather disturbing image of George W. Bush.
