god. i'm tired. to the bone. sometimes i think it's better to let things go. let 'em roll out of control. blow up. let the walls come crumbling down. and see who and or what is left standing.
yet. i can't. seem to. let go. that's it is never too late . . .
so. here we are. 18 March 2009. still being railroaded by politicians. still moaning about our side, fractured as it is into its own factions, and mad as hell at appointees who make it seem like Bush 43 never left.
yeah. we're mad as hell. but what are we going to do about any of this?
like hey man. maybe it's time to jettison brand democrat. and make up our own shit . . . like, yeah, like a Netroots Party or something. an amalgamation, a patchwork of views and voices that can incite some vibrancy back into the citizenry.
saving ourselves by letting go of the tired, predictable, and completely FUCKING wrong voices who've guided us here over these last 30 or so years. republican AND democratic voices. shills for corporate power and enablers of global resource rape.
republicans AND democrats brought us here, that's right. just read Daily Kos over the last weeks. it's like bushCo never left. the mounting outrages over bonuses and blue dogs mounting opposition to Obama's policies: THESE ARE NOT NEW. just like the oncoming financial shit storm was not NEWS . . . we'd been writing about it for several years.
and yet we continue to insist that the only way to save ourselves is to vote in more and better democrats. well, that strategy isn't getting it done, from what i can tell.
we need to find and fund better citizens to send to washington, regardless of party or brand... people strong enough and ethical enough to help us navigate through each layer of this swirling shit storm.
it amazes me and frightens me: most of those out-dated thinkers in washington seem in utter denial about the real dangers, the consequences of the very policies they have pursued over these decades. these are people who ought to have access to the best and most reliable information available... yet they are forming voting blocks against environmental remediation and against financially sound legislation. i mean. wtf?
really. what the fuck? and every time the bad guys win, the democrats blame the republicans for forcing them to back down. it is unbelievable. the dems don't back down because they're afraid or timid: it's the way they've worked out this charade, this sham, this fraud.
saving ourselves? swallowing the hard facts. democrats are republicans; republicans are democrats. they're just out-moded politicians with pretty much the same objectives: keeping the control of resources and power concentrated among their cronies. their true constituency? themselves.
saving ourselves. not our current way of life. there is a difference. we won't all survive the oncoming hardships. but we can all stake a claim in the future by seeding it with better thinkers: those who see survival in terms of equity in relationships among earthlings, their environment, and economic and political systems.
saving ourselves. we are tough enough. to prevail.
