Another day, another North Carolina endorsement for Elaine Marshall.
Monday, it was the largest African American political organization in the state, Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. On Tuesday, it was former United States Senator Robert Morgan saying:
North Carolina needs a leader who will fight for the middle-class and restore common sense leadership to the U.S. Senate. There are many good candidates running this election cycle, but only one of them has the experience and record of taking on Wall Street and special interests: Elaine Marshall.
Last night, we got word that the Durham People's Alliance, one of the oldest and most effective progressive advocacy organizations in North Carolina, had officially endorsed Elaine Marshall. This is another sign of the incredible grassroots momentum that is building around Elaine's campaign.
To be honest, I thought last week was pretty good. We had set a goal of raising $20,000 from 500 donors; we raised $32,410 from 853 donors. (Now: over $36,000 and growing!) Our campaign engaged with thousands of voters across the state and Elaine was the only candidate in the race who took Richard Burr to task for shutting the down the Armed Service committee last week.
We also crossed over 2,000 fans on Facebook -- not a small feat!
But that only paved the way for another great week for Elaine's campaign as we head into the closing month of the primary. Tonight at midnight ends the financial quarter and how much we raise will determine what we can do in the next month to win this race. The more resources we have, the more we can do....
We're trying to reach 1,000 online donors by the end of the quarter to show how powerful our grassroots campaign is. Can you chip in even just $3 to help us meet that goal?
Thank you all.
