This is a short diary to update my panicky little diary I punched out last night. My daughter thought she was registered to vote in Texas, but couldn't find her name on-line. She hadn't received a voter registration card lately--not since the one with her updated address from when she moved to her current address.
Kind Kossacks kismet and shanikka suggested Election Protection, but she was only able to leave a message at that number. psnyder suggested she call her local OFA office, which she did this morning. They were crazy busy there (no surprise) so she asked who else might be able to help her. They suggested she call the county clerk, which she did. The county clerk had a hell of a time finding her but was kind a patient with my daughter. She didn't appear under her name or address, even though she owns her condo and pays county taxes. I think the clerk finally found her under her an alternate registration number or something. Anyway, the clerk said that she is on the voter rolls and should take her voter registration card with her current address to the polls tomorrow.
My daughter is prepared to encounter difficulties tomorrow, which is not surprising since she apparently has a double secret voter registration. Our thanks to all the Kossacks who offered advice and support! Just love Daily Kos!
