Things slowed down briefly - there were actually empty booths (see picture below), but schools are letting out and the lines are building back up.

Look - empty booths!
That didn't last long, the lines started building back up rather quickly.
One child was running through the hall and hit the sign with his head. he fell, stunned a bit, then got back up and started running again. His father never even tried to slow him down. He hit the sign a second time, knowing it over. I don't think the boy was hurt - he didn't cry, anyway, and he's young enough he'd probably cry if he was hurt. His father still hasn't done anything about the boy and his running. I moved the sign until they are gone.
It broke, but I was able to fix it, sort of. Enough, I hope, to get through the day. Tomorrow, I'll ask on of the maintenance men if they can epoxy on a hook to keep the sign attached at the top instead of the duct tape I'm currently using.
Itzl is watching people come in. The noise levels are rising - I think the last 3 children that came in are getting loud, but they're all young enough their voices are out of my hearing range.
I think I'll keep the sign out of the way for now. I'll place it back up when the evening crowds begin arriving.
This is a far cry from the last election, when we had exactly 3 voters the whole day.
We have only had the one drunk so far. I'm kind of happy about that. By this time last election, we'd had 4 drunks, one drunken puke, 2 sick children and their puke, and a hole kicked into my desk.
This is almost as nice as the first Bush II election and way better than the last 2 elections!
