Sanctimonious Sen. Hatch forwards the big Romney/Ryan lie.
Can Republicans be any more hypocritical? That, by the way, is a rhetorical question. Of course
they can be.
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, unveiled resolutions Monday that express disapproval with a decision by the Department of Health and Human Services to allow states to obtain waivers to make changes to welfare work requirements. If passed, the resolutions would block the Obama administration from granting such waivers.
Those are the waivers, of course, that
Republican governors had been asking for, and the waivers that have become one of the
most persistent and most debunked of the lies that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan tell on the stump on a daily basis.
By the way, one of the governors who had initially pushed the Obama administration for this waiver is Hatch's very own Republican governor, Gary Herbert. Utah was one of five states requesting flexibility from the administration.
