So, why am I supporting this wall-street loving, conserva-dem loving, DLC third way corporatist shill? Especially since I supported Obama in 08 and 12, and against said shill?
1) Facts
2) Reality
I typically leave the fantasy realm to the Rethugs. Or to Weiss & Hickman (Long live the lance). And when you look at facts, the following is clear:
1 — Single Payer is not going to happen. The House, which has been protected by R’s through the state legislature re-districting cannot be eliminated. A review of the Cook political site reveals that even if every competitive seat went to the Dems….they would STILL have a house majority. You cant realistically take back the house until after 2020.
2 — Bernie would spend his political capital on changing #1, which cannot be done. And in2018, the dems would lose more seats in the mid-terms. (Presidents historically lose seats at mid-terms. Its a known fact). Especially because dems dont vote in midterms.
3- There are no large “unvoting" dems that will come out for Bernie in any crazy # to change this scenario. Obama won in 08 and 12, (losing in midterm years) and, no offense, Bernie is not him. If He could not do it, Bernie wont. There is no magic pool that will alter the course. It takes demographics, work and time. Lots of time.
4 — His policies, like Single Payer...will cost the economy. Before you say "no”,….provide proof. As in actual numbers, not just Hope. Bernie cant give you actual #’s because the ones given project trillions added to the debt. Free education...is not free. Taxes raised on the middle class. Medicare for all...wont cover everything. It cant. So you need additional insurance. Which raises costs….
The magic unicorn that tax cuts pay for themselves has been exposed. But there is no magic increase in money to the government simply by spending more either. IF spending $ meant larger revenues we would have a surplus problem. And we dont.
Clinton...has issues. I get it. We all get it. But she also is mired in reality. If you want me to believe in you, then as the math teacher says...show me your work. Show me how spending trillions more = no more debt. Show me exactly how much this will cost in actual numbers rather than “hoping for a better economy”.
Please do not bother to respond with attacks on HRC and her elitist corporate shill loving policies. Stick to FACTS and MATH to prove your points.
