Happy Sunday to all who are celebrating today. I try to stay away from religion as a topic, so tonight we talk about a Kossack who deserves some attention. Tonight we venture into #sekritarmy territory to talk about the oft overlooked Noble Fur who has served in that army as a loyal soldier for quite some time now. In foresterbob’s words …
“Noble Fur has her own plan for world domination. Most of it is private, of course. But thanks to some keen observation on my part, plus some documents hacked by the secretive Kittyleaks organization, I can reveal some of her plans here.”
As I have a soft spot for benevolent dictator aspirants and clever word play, Noble Fur gets a little Top Comments attention tonight.
But first, a word from our sponsors ...
Here at Top Comments we welcome longtime as well as brand new Daily Kos readers to join us at 10pm Eastern. We strive to nourish community by rounding up some of the site's best, funniest, most mojo'd & most informative commentary, and we depend on your help!! Please please please include a few words about why you sent it in as well as your user name (even if you think we know it already :-)), so we can credit you with the find!
Noble Fur chose foresterbob a few years years ago after lodging in the wood pile for a spell.
Finding a Hyooman
Before long, the cat and I were introduced. She was gray with medium length fur, with white feet and a patch of white on her neck. Her fluffy tail had interesting brown highlights.
It was clear that she was a special kitty, very affectionate and unafraid of humans. Clearly she had been raised around people. How she ended up alone in the wood pile is anyone’s guess.
Noble Fur and foresterbob quickly hit it off.
A Budding Relationship
She quickly accepted me as her new companion. Some of her traits are very endearing. When she is outdoors and sees me at the door, she will come running at full speed to greet me. If the food plate is too close to being empty (in her opinion), she will run up behind me and grab my leg. She loves to be held, and purrs loudly whenever I’m giving her attention. She is very quiet, letting out an occasional soft “mew” if there is something she wants.
Noble Fur: Road Warrior
For foresterbob’s travels with Noble Fur from the Southeast to Idaho are recorded here:

Noble Fur, Road Warrior, Part 4
I highly recommend the read and the pictures are amazing. Apparently, Noble Fur is quite the navigator and travel companion.
We arrived in McCall on the July 4th weekend. About a week later, an unusually cold weather system arrived. The temperature stayed in the 40s all day while rain poured down. I built a nice fire in the wood stove and moved my camp chair to a strategic location. Of course, as soon as I got up to get something from the kitchen, the chair had a new occupant
The woodshed was one of Noble Fur’s favorite hangouts — because it was a squirrel hangout. The squirrels stashed hundreds of pine cones in the firewood, so that they could munch on pine seeds when other food was scarce.
Kossacks in the News …
Daily Kos Is Back: The liberal site has acquired a new relevance in the era of Democratic resistance to President Donald Trump. by Ryan Grim at HuffPo.
Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.

These two comments are beautifully written and so heartfelt. They show me that the people who posted them fully understand the complications of race in America, and the challenges we're currently facing.
From Ian Douglas Rushlau, this and from strangerthanfiction, this. Both in response to The Easter Sunday massacre in Colfax, Louisiana, and the awful Supreme Court decision that followed by Denise Oliver Velez.
