We are witnessing government corruption in historic proportions and we need sound minds to tell us we’re not crazy. Dan Rather has become one of those voices. He continues to talk to Americans about the news through different venues, but his most popular platform is Facebook and millions of flock to his page daily in hopes of reading his latest commentary—about what the hell is happening in this country. He writes on his page:
The world is a better place when we have an open exchange of ideas.
On Tuesday, Rather discussed, once again, the Trump-Russia probe after Donald Trump Jr’s emails with Russians, during the 2016 presidential campaign, were revealed. Dan Rather calls the reality of what is happening distorted like a “carnival mirror,” and unlike anything he could have ever imagined. Here is Dan Rather’s Facebook post from Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
The questions are obvious. The answers are wanting. We the American people deserve to know what in God's name is happening. Our legal system demands a presumption of innocence until the evidence proves otherwise. But the evidence is piling up.
I have been around a long time. I like to think I have seen a lot. But the revelations of the emails that set up the meeting between Donald Trump. Jr. - and let us not forget both Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner - with an agent of the Russian government is unlike anything I could even have imagined. There is still a lot that we do not know. But only a hypocrite, a cynic or a fool could argue that this development can be innocuously explained.
it is like a carnival mirror is being held up to American democracy, distorting everything we thought we knew into grotesque new shapes. We need a reality check. This is decision time, especially for our elected officials. Which side of history will you be on?
Earlier in the year, Dan Rather launched a newsgroup to counter fake news & alternative facts called “News & Guts” (N&G). This video was posted on their page Tuesday evening with the lede:
