Want to donate your money where it will have maximum impact? Read on...
Litejedi has done some amazing research, correlating election predictions with FEC filings to find candidates who are in competitive races but are underfunded. His diary is here, but did not get a lot of attention. It was his first diary, so he doesn’t have a lot of followers, and he posted late Sunday night, when diaries often sink without a trace.
If you would like to see his spreadsheet yourself, it’s here. (I think. I had a hard time figuring out what the download link was, but I think that’s it.) Check it out, and see if there’s anyone there you’d like to support.
Litejedi was going to try to make an ActBlue group that would let you donate to his list of favored donation targets with a click, as a quick and easy option if you don’t want to spend time analyzing spreadsheets. But he hasn’t gotten around to it, and time is getting short, so I took the liberty of making one myself.
It’s the first time I’ve ever made an ActBlue group, so if I screwed up or you have any suggestions for improving, please let me know.
And if you have any spare cash at this point, please consider making a donation to these candidates who are losing the money race but still have a chance to win.
UPDATE:
There are 14 recipients in this ActBlue group. The default is to distribute your donation equally, but if you click Click here to allocate amounts differently or view all recipients you can adjust the amounts as you wish. Even to zero, so you can use the link to pick just one candidate to support, if that’s what you want.
Litejedi’s reasons for the candidates he picked is here. There are some marquee races on the list. Stacey Abrams? Abigail Spanberger? Claire McCaskill? They’ve gotten a lot of media attention so I was surprised to find they were underfunded. Throw ‘em a few bucks if you can!
UPDATE #2:
Hit the original $5,000 goal already, so I raised it to $10,000. Great work, folks!
