CO-05 (R): The AP calls the race for Doug Lamborn, who in all likelihood will get to spend another term as one of the least popular members of Congress.
On an entirely different note, a big part of the reason that all of these Dem incumbents in NYC are struggling (or outright losing) is because of the fact that NY’s primary is for federal races only, and there’s no race at the top of the ticket, so turnout sucks. (State-level primaries, including the race for governor, aren’t until Sept. 13.) Typically, low turnout helps the side with the most motivated voters, and that’s often gonna be outsider insurgents.
