After the 2016 election I wrote a Top Comments diary about the plans of those who hate him to ‘undo’ President Obama’s legacy. I have watched with dismay the efforts they have made to erase him, and, worse, to damage and undermine those he worked so hard to help. They have adversely affected millions of human beings in our country, and, particularly where climate is concerned, possibly billions more, world-wide.
It is a critical time in so many ways, perhaps in none so much as regards our climate. Decisions since the inauguration have focused on removing obstacles to outrageous short-term profit, no matter what happens to our world in coming years, decades and centuries. And, of course, many decisions have just been made out of spite. They don’t really care who is affected, nor how badly.

My final paragraph from that 2016 diary is one I still agree with:
But the hardest legacy element they will encounter will be the sheer and staggering CONTRAST. Between an adult and an adolescent. Between a qualified man and a totally unqualified one. Between a man that respects others and a man that cares only for himself. Between a man that made quality, thoughtful decisions and choices and a man that ‘flies by the seat of his pants.’ By a man with a terrific social energy and one devoid of humanity. Even those who followed the lead of FauxNews and hated President Obama will eventually see him in a new light, and be forced to admit that his administration represented a better era, and era of far superior GREATNESS. As the new person’s most miserably chosen adjective comes home to roost.
Finally, I realize that our primary season has only begun, yet I am thinking ahead to the debates he won’t be able to duck as easily as he has tax return transparency. He’s going to have to stand across from our Democratic champion. And, no matter who we pick, she or he may find President Obama to be one of our most effective tools against him, because of his deserved inferiority complex. His greatest weakness may yet be his staggering incompetence and lack of qualification. And the fact that, as Chris Christie pointed out, he swings at every pitch. The troll himself so vulnerable to trolling.
No one on his debate prep team can do anything about it. In criminal profiling terminology, it’s signature. He is powerless to resist it.
I predict he will lose to President Obama yet. And, if we make the defeat large enough, the country itself will ask us to restore so many things we appreciated from President Obama’s leadership. And then they will ask us to go beyond that. As, indeed, we have to do.

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down. TKO3333 brings it in this excellent summing up of the truth, vs. Senator Collins' usual twaddle. From Joan McCarter’s Susan Collins has a sad that people have finally seen through her act.
From Tara TASW:
In Hunter's diary Trump repeatedly suggested nuking hurricanes because of course he did, GRLionsFan finds the perfect metaphor for the current administration.
From twingrace:
jayden’s response to FellowTraveler’s comment is priceless. From annieli’s It is worse: Trump got his "nuke the hurricane" idea from Sharknado movie.
